They don't give her enough credit for actually knowing the dangers of cyberbullying, especially in Korean culture. At first, I didn't think things through and worried about her somewhat, thinking she was being a bit naive, but with this clarification and upon further thought, I think that people dismissing her actions for being a big overreaction are truly the naive ones. Then resolve it in KR. What does TL have to do with it...?

Twitter is not less real than email or message board posts.

People should be allowed to harrass other endlessly. I agree that posting rude of offensive comments in themselves shouldn't be punishable but doing so repeatedly in a viscous manner, directed at a specific person through various media... yes that should have consequences and has nothing to do with censorship.

Jessica felt the need to come to TL, because, according to her OP, Haeun_Cielu came to TL first giving his side of the story. And what do you mean, what does TL have to do with it? People are going to see the story regardless and make all these judgments about it, so it's natural that she'd want to clear things up on the biggest foreign community site.

I agree and yet disagree completely at the same time with everything about this "topic", but it is not as if it mattered what I think.

That being said, Jessica, I respect the lengths that you would go to in order to protect one of your own. Thank you for taking time out of I'm sure your busy schedule to explain this to us. Hopefully, this will weather itself down soon and hope to hear good things from Eve and SlayerS as a whole. Best wishes.

I felt the entire post around the "over-reaction", and all of the hate that was directed towards Slayers_eve slightly humiliating to find within the supposed standards of Team Liquid. I'd always liked to assume that the user base of this website was above the standards of most internet gatherings, though I have to now admit that is only those noticeable posters on TL that give it its shine. I wish you all the best of luck in anything you can do to protect your team, and more specifically Eve. I really hope that this experience hasn't scarred her too much in relation to pro gaming, as there is no better place for her to improve and to create her own spotlight than with your team. The TL response was quite mature. Yes there were some jokes but most of the discussion was serious and was about the place of women gamers (who are significantly worse than their male counterparts) within the competitive landscape. There wasn't any direct harassment or bullying, and the jokes were mild and the usual that most people get. Teamliquid is already heavily moderated/controlled (see SCreddit for an example of what the "real" population thinks, without TL mod's deciding what is/isn't allowed as a topic of discussion), so I don't see any reason for TL to apologize in any way.
