Fandom’s Dota 2 Wiki admins transfer to Liquipedia
Moving toward a consolidated source for both esports and gameplay information
In a big step forward for 2 Dota 2 wikis and the community, the administrators from the Dota 2 Fandom team have joined Liquipedia. After months of hard work, Liquipedia now has a fully functional gameplay focused Dota 2 wiki.
The journey started in December, with the team working hard to ensure a smooth transition and to deliver the best experience for Dota 2 fans. With the help of the new members Iris, Buny, Medok, X-7B-3A, and Randomaize, the Dota 2 wiki is now successfully launched.
Going forward, the focus now will be merging liquipedia.net/dota2game into liquipedia.net/dota2, and the plan is to combine game and esports content into one wiki. This will allow users to find comprehensive information on both Dota 2 gameplay and esports in one place.
In order to provide users with easy access to both gameplay and esports resources, the design team is also redesigning the Liquipedia main page to serve as a centralized Dota 2 hub. This redesign aims to seamlessly transition between gameplay information and esports updates to meet the diverse needs of the community.
Last but not least, Liquipedia is also integrating the Russian language wiki into its platform, aiming to make Dota 2 information more accessible. The Russian version of the wiki will be available at a later date.
With the Dota 2 wiki now live on Liquipedia, fans are encouraged to explore and contribute. Join Liquipedia’s Discord and help shape the Dota 2 wiki: https://discord.com/invite/liquipedia

The two will be merged in time, but our first aim was to get it working, the merge is the focus after we're happy with the state of the wiki

This post made re-examine my life here. I never noticed the name of the wiki was never actually Liquid. I had to double check all way back to the original post of its inception to my disbelief.

This is a huge win for wikis. As a uMatrix enjoyer and PC user, I was blind to the egregious and aggressive ads and draconian constraints that run rampant on Fandom, only recently learning about just how unusable the site is on mobile, as well as about the rising number of communities choosing to switch to new hosts. LP has always been a great resource for game data, and though it wasn't always updated with the frequency that the Fandom wiki was, this transfer ensures that it will be, moving forward. Fantastic initiative.
Really big pickup! Really great to see content from fandom moved over. There was some stuff I relied on the fandom wiki for, but it was always begrudging because of the intrusive advertisements.
