Fighting is the only option. Life really feels a never ending fight. You get breaks every now and then, but the moment you stop fighting you lose and there is no winning. Winning is acceptance and realization, not actually winning. You can still make the never ending fight easier though. Making small daily life improvements can really add up. Never give in nor give up! | ||

One of the first things that gets neglected for me, but I am also sure many others, is self-care. Taking the time to clean up your living area, do a skincare routine, cook a healthy breakfast, work out... all of these things tend to fall to the wayside when you're in the depths of the struggle. They seem like small things, but they really are a large component of the driving force behind the stability we enjoyed and desire. Just doing "what you should do" can be the difference between spiraling deeper into the regret/guilt cycle and staying afloat. They are the foundation that allows us to keep fighting, as you said. I can’t say I always agree with your takes, but I’ve always appreciated the way you articulate them, this post especially. Had my own issues, my dad dying, having a kid, having that relationship and having a complete breakdown and a year in hospital in a fun 2.5 year crunch. Hey 7 years later and I’m still not sure if I can get my old happy-go-lucky self back, but I sure as fuck can hang in there and be the best I can be, for myself and those in my life. It does somewhat confuse me that our species is so afflicted with various neuroses that seem of little evolutionary benefit, or perhaps it’s merely our cultural constructions not neatly intersecting with our biology. Whatever it is it can be a fucking pain in the arse, to put it mildly… Gonna stop before I go full ramble, but cheers for sharing and a lot of what you said absolutely resonated with me, take care man! | ||
