EPTI'm posting this here because I've occasionally stumbled upon vods in the TL database that were unlisted videos and were quite old. Those videos are going to become inaccessible, unless the owner of the account they were uploaded to fills out this form to opt out (or just set the videos to public). I don't actually know how many Starcraft videos will be affected by this, but I feel I've definitely stumbled upon unlisted videos quite a few times, so maybe this is something worth checking since it'd be a shame to lose anything.

Since I don't think this has anything to do with the infamous nevake copyright battle that happened 15 years ago, is there a way to report the videos that went private so they could be somehow restored? I was able to find most videos elsewhere. OGN stuff can be found on their channel. MSL on youtube and in one of those awesome torrents. Sometimes the database only has one or two videos of a certain league. Those are very hard to find. But what really bothers me are cases like the "2004-2005 YATGK MSL", where the database seems to have pretty much the whole tournament, but all videos have become private. That one unfortunately I wasn't able to find on youtube nor inside one of those giant MSL/MBC torrents. So, as I said before, is there a way to report those videos so they can be restored? | ||

It works! It really works!!! I had not idea they also archived youtube videos. Time to go back and watch the ones I thought were lost forever. By the way, if whoever has access to the legendary nevake account wants the list of URL that went private, so they can be un-privatized, I believe I have them all here. I didn't know why exactly the videos I was watching suddenly became private, so I have been keeping track of them all. Before I found Dada_'s post I thought it could be something temporarily so I was going to try again later. | ||

One of the next days I'll get back with a more extensive post, to help you possibly find even more videos, as lately I have been really busy. @WombaT It's actually the people saving the webpages to the Wayback Machine, it's not doing it automatically, as far as I know. | ||

One thing I just learned (thanks to you) is that sometimes archive.org will only have the "embedded" URL form of a video, as in https://www.youtube.com/embed/{videoID} But sometimes it will only have the "regular" URL form, ex: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v={videoID} You can also go for the "wayback fakeurl" form, which seems to work as long as the video exists in their archives, no matter the URL form that was used to save it. One thing I just noticed is that OGN Youtube channel, more often than not, has less videos in their playlists than what can be found inside the TLPD. Specially in leagues that have more than 4 groups, ex: "2006 ShinHan OSL 3rd". OGN rule of thumb seems to be "no more than 4 matches per day", which is usually fine when there are only groups A-D. But the league I just mentioned had A-F, so 2 matches from the initial stage are always missing. Another thing is that the Teamliquid tracker would really benefit from some filtering options. It has thousands of unseeded torrents, so it is very easy to miss the couple of pearls that can be found there, like Moktira's stuff (which, by the way, I only found because google found a forum post about it while I was trying to find out why 90% of the VODs in the TLPD went private.) | ||
