I'm a low level zerg player, and I've found that I actually am not having as much fun as zerg as I do when offracing as protoss. Also, I really enjoy watching players like MC, Puzzle, HuK, etc. play protoss, and I think the way of play is really cool. Therefore, I intend to ladder as zerg for about a week while practicing as protoss. Because I'm such a big fan of HuK/MC, I've already found my new pvt and pvz builds-
HuK's one gate expo in pvt http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=223726
Chinese/huk blink pvz http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=236230
My question, however, is how to approach PvP? I don't really understand how it works and I haven't found a solid build order that allows for economic play without dying to aggression. I'll try to update this blog with my progress training as a new protoss. Thanks TL for your help :D

Watching replays or vods of your favorite players (Huk, MC) is probably the best way to get started otherwise you can search TL for a wide variety of strategies as well as Liquipedia. I suggest you try Liquipedia as there is really great stuff there, but you can always find good builds on the TL forums made by the people here.
I am a diamond protoss player and haven't laddered in about 3 weeks so I don't the know the newest trends but 3gate robo seems to work most of the time and 4gate is still strong. You can spice things up a bit with chargelot/archon, which is also really strong.
I can sit here and list a bunch of strategies but eventually you have to figure out on your own which strategies and builds you feel more comfortable with and works best for your style.
If you want to you can PM me for more info and if you want to play some time.
Good luck

a good opening to do is to open 3gate blink, the BO is relatively simple to execute, but the potency depends on your micro, 3 gate robo is also quite good, but its really reactionary on what you get out of the robo depending on how you scout, and its execution requires some tweaking if you want it to defend against most builds, 4gate is still viable in PvP as well
