52 Card (4 suit) basic card deck Games:
HEARTS!!!!
This is a classic four player game that just uses a normal deck of cards. It is very easy to learn how to play, and is great for something relaxing with friends, family or perhaps 2 couples. The game may be easy to learn, but it is one of those ones that it is still hard to win, unless you are very good.
Here are some rules i found that should explain it to people who have never played before.

This is obviously a game that takes GREAT skill to be great at, but i still love to play it even though i am terribad.
Idiot
This is a game that i just recently learned how to play last summer. It is not the most tricky or difficult game, but it is one i enjoy for a good time. You could easily teach this to your younger children, or old grandparents and have fun with them

Egyptian Rat Screw
This might be my favorite of the ones menioned, just becuase i get crazy competitative with this game. I mean i have gotten in a few fights with people over this on who slapped first. This game only takes about 10 minutes to learn, and is an instant classic. If you can get people to shut up for that long and actually try the game, they will love it.

This website has a lot of extra rules that can be fun, but i reccomend playing it easy at first, and mixing it up once you get the hang of it.
Personal Deck Card Games:
I was not sure how to label these, but i think it gets the point across. These games require you to have a certain deck of cards for this game only.
Apples to Apples
This is another very common game but I think i have to bring it up just incase someone out there has not played it. This game is very fun to play with a lot of people, but i can assure you that it will get pretty noisy and crazy. I played this game all the time growing up, and I promise that it is worth it to try it out.

BANG!
This game i first learned about last year, and i actually like it a lot. It took a little getting used to, but playing this game (especially with the expansion pack) is a lot of fun. The theme of this is an old west town, where one person is sheriff and the rest are either assigned to kill the sheriff (outlaws) protect him (deputy/vice sherrif) or kill everyone (renegade). I think only 6 can play with out the expansion, but it is super fun!

5 crowns:
The only reason i put this game in here is because my parents are in love with this game. For those who have played gin rummy before, this should be a real easy game to understand and play. It is, in fact, just a oversized gin. This game is one where you make sets and runs (hehe i said runs) to put all of your cards down. It does not take too much skill, but rather a sharp mind and eye, and a lot of luck. Play this game if you just want to have an easy game that you can teach to a lot of people (less than 10)

Now i know i left off a lot of great games, but that is where you came in. If i had to find and write about every great card game there is then i would be here for at least 4 more minutes. So lets here them, what are your favorite games??

PYRAMID: AKA GET DRUNK QUICK WHILE HAVING FUN!
Standard deck of 52 cards, no jokers. Recommended 4+ players.
Place 10 cards face down in a pyramid formation (one on top, two below, three below, ect). Deal out the deck to the players.
Flip the first card. If anyone has the same card as that they put it on top and delegate one (1) drink to any other player, more than one card of the same type can be played at once. Flip the next card on the second row, if anyone has that card they can delegate two (2) drinks to any other player, drinks can be split (ie, player 1 can give one (1) to player 2 and one (1) to player 3). Keep flipping each card down the row and on to the next, the number of drinks that can be delegated is dependent on what row the card that is flipped is in (ie, the three cards in the third row are worth three (3) drinks each, fourth- four (4), ect).
Once all the cards have been flipped on the fifth row, find who has the most cards left in there hand. They are now on the "Bus" (if two or more are equal, they are both on the bus).
The Bus
Shuffle the deck. Lay out four cards face down. Flip the first card. The player on the bus now guesses whether or not the card next to it is higher or lower (ace high). If they guess right, then the guess if the next card is higher or lower than the card that was just flipped. If they guess wrong (same card counts as wrong) take one (1) drink, and deal four more cards underneath. They then guess if the first card in that row is higher or lower than the card just flipped. Continue on until all cards on the table are face up (ie, if they are bad at guessing this could be the whole deck, and they will be taking A LOT of drinks).
After all players are off the Bus, create a new pyramid and start again!
This is a great, easy game that gets you drunk quite quickly! GL HF
