I've not seen anyone post about this, but there has been a ton of problem for mac Starcraft 2 users. For several people it has made SC2 completely useless. My experience is that after launching the game it hangs (having to force quit), then crashes and finally you get the error "Unable to run StarCraft II. Required files are missing. Please reinstall StarCraft II." Obviously reinstalling doesn't fix anything.
Blizzard is aware of the situation and has fixes for some problems but not this one, yet. And a lot of people are having this problem.
Blizzard forum thread: http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/....
Anyone else having this problem? I think it's alarming that this patch completly makes the game useless.
Update
they've updated with a fix http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/6233033632?page=6#103
this one worked for me. Apparently the problem is some libraries, caches and support files, you have to delete several folders, and then run SC2.

I'm having the "internal error please try again" (or something like that) problem. It's extremely frustrating, seeing as I was really looking forward to laddering tonight.
|
I use a mac and i don't have any problems with it.
|
It ran initially, 2nd try I got the internal server error. Restarted my computer and it ran fine, except maybe a little more lag than before the patch. Annoying for sure..
edit: macbook pro is also running hotter post-patch

I was at the 'optimization' stage, then I clicked 'Play Now'. It froze so I force quit sc2, now when I try to open sc2 it bounces on the doc then disappears ughhhhh
|
I managed to get the patch working to play SC2, but the galaxy editor still hangs on boot up and forces me to force quit the application.
|
i am having that exact problem. the patch completely broke my game...hopefully they will get it fixed soon
|
Yup, same problem with me, too. The weird thing is that I have two other friends with Macs, and one of them has the same problem as me, and the other has no problems at all. Hope a fix comes soon

:/ Man. Sounds like the same problems the initial release back in 2010 had with Macs. It freezes, won't run, it over heats etc... Great...

Sooo... was trying everything listed in other forum threads... this did the trick. (Machkhan from blizzard support forum suggested, nice work man.... simple fix to a problem haunting many)
Go to /users/Library/Application Support/Blizzard
dump the whole Starcarft II folder to your desktop so that you might have hopes of getting your replays back and voila...
loaded without problems ^_^
*Edit: this was in response to the error message ""Unable to run StarCraft II. Required files are missing. Please reinstall StarCraft II."

It has been running just fine on my MBP, thankfully.
|

Thanks, this worked for me (SC2 would not start, and force quitting showed that file missing error).

The game patched and started fine (OS X 10.6.8) but I am having freezing/skipping every 30-60 seconds during play for about 1-2 seconds. Extremely frustrating!
