This thread is for discussing recent bans. Don't discuss other topics here. Take it to website feedback if you disagree with a ban or want to raise an issue. Keep it civil.NOTE: For those of you who want to find the actual ABL thread where the bans are posted. Please look in here: https://tl.net/forum/closed-threads/ |
With all the TL moderation hate going around
from the start of depetrify's reddit post. Is that really what's going on at reddit? If so, it makes me all the more happy that i'm part of TL. Rofl.
Oh, another gem:
They have been mod nasis' since the beginning, how did you not know this
Although to be fair, that one did get 2 down votes, so I guess I should give reddit more credit than I do.

I searched for posts that got the guy banned. He certainly has a history of stupid posts. In fact, I think his first ever ban was a perm for bumping a four year old thread to give a stupid answer.

no that was the answer to the first question
or both, really
the drama will die down soon hopefully. i got a PM earlier from some 1post destiny fanboy about NrGMonk being 'mean' to him in a PM, apparently he thought NrGMonk and DeepElemBlues are "similar handles.", (yes, really.)
he kindly asked me to join his revolution or whatever, something about the mods being inconsistent about bad language and just being meanies in general or something, i had to decline the invitation.
(i dont think there are any hamsters in the destiny fanboy revolution and we all know you can't win your revolution without hamsters).
edit: this not-so-dangerous 'subversive' has graced us with an apperance on our favorite list!
ConorGreat was just banned by Antoine.
That account was created on 2012-05-03 12:48:04 and had 1 posts.
Reason: you're only allowed one account, chase.

Hamsters remind me of
Poll: Hamsterwhere s the rat poison (8) 53% yesssss (7) 47% 15 total votes Your vote: Hamster (Vote): yesssss (Vote): where s the rat poison
Soon we will see the ABL people engaged in a trench warfare, split in pro and anti hamster faction.
And not many bans to discuss today (or should it be ?)

I have taught you well. Your jedi training is almost complete.

Idk how I feel about the ABL thread direction going from nelson's "Haha!" from the simpsons to hipster jaedong.
At least TheKefka chose a stylish way to off himself, or rather have himself banned.
|
to think, when i saw 100 unread posts in the ABL thread, i was concerned that there were bans related to the GSL games last night, and i would get spoiled if i read this thread. so, i didnt read it. then, i got bored after a conference call with client and read it. no spoilers, nice. rarely a discussion on bans, im glad to see we are back on the derail track. =D

As someone who has requested a few bans - is there a reason why the requests must go through mods every time? TheKefka 's "SMITE ME!" gave me the idea that there could be an automation to ban users as they wish. Like when you are about to unleash your wrath on someone there would be this big red GG-button on the side which you could press at the last second and save yourself from shameful behavior and in some cases a longer ban. Or just have an option in the profiles or somewhere to ban yourself in advance. I think this kind of self-moderation could clean up the forums(especially LR's) quite a bit and up the quality across the site.
What a silly thought.

If someone has the discipline to ban themselves prior to making a bad post, they'll probably just hit backspace. Every time I've gotten warned or temped for snapping on someone, there's not been the sort of restraint involved that would let me cockblock myself that way.
Maybe to ease things up around finals, there'd be some value, but other than that, requested bans probably don't soak enough time to be worth the effort, if I had to guess.

^You can always report yourself.
Which, speaking of that TL coders finally fixed the dealy where you could report staff. Darn, lol.

I tried to report one of my posts a couple days ago to see if it had already been reported and I couldn't

Question for the mods: Do you like more days with many bans where you can swiftly swing the banhammer, or more quiet days?

I don't think you mean cockblock, but on the off chance you do, I'm impressed by your typing skills.
"banned for this" would be a pretty funny auto-ban term, although it may overlap some people quoting others saying "you'll get banned for this". Although I think it's safe to assume that posting about someone breaking rules in that manner would receive a ban anyway.

I have trouble keeping up with this thread and my job some days.

I love the whole "Nazi Mods!" thing. NO. TL is a freaking oligarchy, not fascist system
EDIT: Fixed a dangerous dangling participle.
