Thanks for all the work, Torte de Lini I use your guides every time I'm on a hero I'm not too familliar with. They're also a fairly decent way to keep track of the meta when I haven't had time to watch any games for a while.
I don't know if you've answered this before, but I don't suppose there's a patreon about, or some way I (as a rather average player) could contribute to the project?

Thanks a lot! I appreciate that, I use these guides as also a way to keep tabs on the meta because sometimes even I fall behind!
Patreon is under consideration, but nothing confirmed yet. Maybe when all the heroes are released! Even if you're just an average player, you may have insight about heroes that I haven't noticed or seen something in a pro game that looked like it make sense to put in a guide, these things help me a lot as well!

Thanks for the guides, imo you should be paid at least a tiny amount for high rated hero guides, pretty sure that the majority of the dota playerbase that's at least under 4k relies on them.

We can assume at least 15% of the Dota 2 playerbase are subscribed to a hero build one way or another (about 1.6 million minimum). Not sure how many truly do, but it's definitely a large number.
About being 'paid', it's something that is nice, but any sort of Patreon setup would be used to reward long-time contributors and hopefully motivate more consistent feedback and help. The real hurdle I'm facing is the amount of time this project demands.
You can read more here: 2 Years, 100 million: Dota Builds Project Overview
+ Show Spoiler +I liked you a lot in StarCraft II, I think our teams played a lot against yours (CoL/Millennium). I was VT Gaming/Team Dynamic/Quantic and Infinity Seven back then!
I really like it a lot when people stop by to give their thanks and such, it's a huge motivator for me (so much that I am here at the office just so I can update some builds and finish some other stuff).

What are you currently looking for feedback on?
---
With the recent nerf to Rocket Barrage affecting level 1 most, I feel that Gyro(Lane) should go back to being 2-0-1 at level 3.
--- I've seen a lot of salve/tango/mango/x starts in pro games recently.

Safelane alch is 100% radiance manta octa build Tusk needs shit like force glimmer ect aka more utility items and probably get rid of silver edge deso ac Doom looks fine I would personally add hex but looks good I think medusa really needs mom or drums yasha and remove manta satanic 100% and add mjolnir to situational
|
Medusa needs *something* substantial with an easy buildup in between treads and Skadi/Linkens. Yasha's fine because it speeds up her farm enough to not delay the Skadi much. Drums is more of a fighting item. There are a few other possibilities for that slot (Maelstrom? Helm of the Dominator? Crystalys?) but there needs to be *something* there, and whatever it is needs to speed up farming somehow. Yasha and drums just happen to have defensive applications too.
|
Drums and MoM are both pretty good on Medusa IMO, I would probably go Treads RoA Wand Drums as starting items, into some other item. Pre-MoM nerf I got MoM every game, shield interaction is really good because you basically take less reduced damage.
Weaver definitely should have Linken's Sphere in situational at best, Mael/Diffusal/Deso first are much better for the current meta.

I would personally consider radi oct mid and some kind of fighting build safelane, like blink medallion. You could also do radi oct for both. I don't think you can ignore that build at this point, even though it's not the only way to play him.
As always, I'm against dual builds. I think you should pick one or the other and do it properly.
Dusa is just really awkward this meta, but I don't know that the answer is to try and shoehorn the antithesis of a fighting carry into a fighting build. That said, I'm not opposed to switching yasha for drums.
Weaver is also just really weak. Deso is great if they can't kill you, but he gets exploded way too easily right now to beeline it every game. Something like roa>urn>(bkb)>deso is probably okay. He's always gonna be weaver though.
I like linkens more than most but the buildup is so awkward. 75% of newbies doing Linkens weaver probably end up with a perseverance, a recipe and no ancient.
Doom is way too strong in lane to put him in jungle. I'm opposed to jungle cores in general, but jungle doom is a straight-up travesty when he basically gets to farm heroes if he goes to a lane.
If you want to switch tusk to 4pos you're looking at all the usual greaves/blink/solar/force/glimmer stuff. He's relatively item-independent if he's not planning to solokill people.
|
manta and satanic are bad on medusa because they don't synergize with her kit at all and its drums and yasha as the alternative to straight mom which I strongly believe is the best. Tusk core should be mek blink and extension into greaves force lotus solar glimmer stuff like that.
|
Manta isn't that bad. It has a similar function on dusa as it does on any other ranged agi carry; a mix of dps, stats and utility from a 4th-5th slot item once the illusions actually do damage. The illusions get split shot so it's incorrect to say they don't synergise at all.
That said it's not great, and she's probably only going to get it maybe 1/3 of games. I agree that satanic is rarely a good idea.
|
if you are getting manta 1/3 of games your building this hero wrong
|
I think i have said this earlier already but Medusa should go treads RoA yasha into skadi, i honestly see a single reason going something like drums yasha mom, thats just i dont know, wasting 6k gold to something that u could do with 2k and get an actual item before enemy starts to pushing.
I like manta quite a bit actually, as said earlier u shouldnt go manta first or second item, but after like yasha skadi butter bkb (dont mind the order) manta is fine. If u think manta is shit on dusa, u are wrong too, the amount of hits those illusions can tank (while f.e. sieging high ground) is pretty damn good.
