Also, Abaddon: Mek is a core item, description says it's situational.
The wand upgrade is purely to promote a good habit + wand is so universally situational on most heroes that this was my way of killing two birds with one stone.

Noted. Original advice stands.
Heroes with starting branches and core Mek should list Magic Stick rather than Magic Wand as an early-game item.

I'll consider it, but a few more opinions on the matter will help.

personally I get a stick on just about every hero I play..but i rarely upgrade to wand, even if I have the branches bc that 150g can be spent elsewhere..but other games i'll upgrade it to free up several slots.
the thing with the upgrade is that you're paying to free up inventory slots, basically..plus a few more charges. like torte said, the upgrade is universally situational and sometimes you're better off with just the stick instead of delaying something like upgraded boots by several creeps..but sometimes you're behind and want the slots, but don't want to give up the small stat gain.
I also have friends who get a wand every game, even if they don't need it. we're not all professional players and everyone plays a different way so you'll probably hear 10 different opinions on when to upgrade and when to sell the branches and keep the wand for a bit.

- Fate's Edict to block lane from farming and to harass foes with the amplified damage
- Combination is E (dmg) -> Q (dispels the heal effect) -> E (dmg)
- W (dispel dmg) -> E (heal ally)
- Fate's Edict does not block stuns or effects, it just nullifies the damage (so you can be targeted, but not damaged - wasting enemies' spells).
- Orchid Malevolence completely disables foes with Fate's Edict
- Use False Promise before Purifying Flames on allies to double the healing effect.
- Avoid Fate's Edict on enemies if your team has a nuke ultimate.
- Avoid Fate's Edict on allied physical carries before a fight.
- Eul's Scepter works great to delay foes until Fortune's End has been channeled
- Use Fortune's End to initiate an early first-blood
As a reminder, these heroes still need ratings and feedback, I unfortunately need to be more of a pest about it because they are difficult to attract attention:
Kunkka (Middle) Build Weaver (Lane) Build Dragon Knight (Middle) Build Skywrath Mage (Lane) Build Tusk (Middle) Build Naga Siren (Middle) Build Elder Titan (Lane) Build Ursa (Lane) Build Nyx Assassin (Lane) Build Axe (Jungle) Build Ember Spirit (Middle) Build Lifestealer (Lane) Build Shadow Shaman (Middle) Build Earth Spirit (Middle) Build Troll Warlord (Middle) Build desperately needs ratings to be in the database Silencer (Middle)

Your Oracle(Lane) draft now has 7 starting items. Intentional?
Sobi, Salve, Tangos, 1x Branch seems reasonable.

ha! oops

Your starting items right now still cost too much gold (Sobi Mask (325) + 2x Branch (100) + Tangoes (125) + Clarity (50) + Salve (115) = 715 gold).
I would start with 1x Clarity, 1x Salve, 1x Tangoes, 3x branches. Possibly even courier/observer if needed.

sobi mask is 325 also is shit start item anyway since u can get from sideshop and at low levels flat regen compares better to %.

Good catch. It still costs too much though

Sobimask is meant to symbolize the Soul Ring Recipe. There's no way for me to symbolize that though ):

well then don't start with soul ring recipe its not like you need a soul ring at minute 2 in order to be effective
I'm still hella dubious about soul ring at all

You're right, I won't put it in Starting Items, it'll just be first item Early Game.
To me, Soul Ring makes sense since he has a way of regenerating that life anyways (at least twice before the cooldown ends)
What is the downside?

I'll start off by saying that I don't have a great handle on oracle overall but
I don't particularly see the value in buying a farming mana regen item on a hero who doesn't really use mana to farm.
Its like u dont see a soul ring on warlock (okay u dont see it on INTELLIGENT warlocks) because nobody gives 2 shits if u can regen the HP, the item doesn't do shit. Soul ring is good on heroes like enigma, who utterly lacks an HP regen tool, simply because he needs the mana to farm and farms really well with it. Same with ET.

I dont think anyone really does.
I associate Soul Ring with an item that's only good if you can regen the mana back and it serves its purpose throughout the game.
Since we're getting Urn of Shadows though and Arcane and Wand, it might be irrelevant.
What do you think? I see Oracle as team-fighter and ganker, so I thought Soul Ring was interesting but perhaps not relevant given the other mana regen items
|
Again, soul ring self-regens the HP. Its about how you use the mana.

Don't the low cooldowns and range warrant an early-game item like Soul Ring?
I mean: purifying flames + edict or fortune's end is a mana sap but can either keep your ally alive in lane or harass foes out.

i think urn + arcanes + wand should be enough to keep his mana pool relatively full until he gets eul's.
i'm definitely not qualified to make that call though..i'm just going off of what other high int-gain heroes have going for them.
