i understand that, but how can you possibly calculate a percent chance based off that? that's what i mean. any calculation doesn't seem reliable because there are many things to account for in predicting what angle he's coming at. you can't just use probability, here.

well, like you said..depending on how likely the team is to clump together. like i said before, relying on your opponent's mistakes isn't how you play a strategy game.
that said, i think what you present as cookie cutter is bfury -> daedlus and put a note on one or both of the items saying "if the other team is clumping up on top of the creep wave a lot, go double bfury. if not, continue as normal"

Agreed, cookie cutter should probably be bfury -->daedelus (because that's effective in more situations than double bfury). Double bfury is only really required if the enemy has a lot of summons (like furion/lycan/invoker with necrobooks)

The angle Ember attacks from during Sleight is effectively random, which is why it's a probability. That's the point lol. If he has a 50% chance of cleaving two targets at a given distance, it means there's a 180-degree arc around 1 guy where if he attacks from that 180 degree arc, the other guy get's cleaved, and if not, he doesn't.

I will remove it. I don't think it is that big of a deal, so I'll just put Daedalus and add a secondary Battlefury as situational.
Ember Spirit (Lane) Ember Spirit (Middle) Moved Battlefury to Extension Items Added Linken's Sphere to Situational Items Moved Daedalus to Core Items Moved Monkey King Bar to Extension Items
Silencer (Lane) New Skill Build: W E E Q E R E Q Q Q R W W W R (1. Last Word 2. Curse of the Silent 3. Glaives of Wisdom) Added Rod of Atos to Situational Items Updated descriptions on all items (usually I don't include these in the patch notes anymore, but Silencer was heavily underwritten)
New Guide
Silencer (Middle)
New Skill Build: W E E Q E R E Q Q Q R W W W R (1. Last Word 2. Curse of the Silent 3. Glaives of Wisdom) Starting Items: 3x Iron Branch, Tangos Early Game: Bottle, Boots of Speed Core Items: Power Treads, Aghanim's Scepter, Refresher's Orb Situational Items: Ghost Scepter, Force Staff, Rod of Atos, Black King Bar, Orchid of Malevolence Extension Items: Assault Cuirass, Shiva's Guard, Scythe of Vyse
As a reminder, these heroes still need ratings and feedback, I unfortunately need to be more of a pest about it because they are difficult to attract attention:
Kunkka (Middle) Build Weaver (Lane) Build Dragon Knight (Middle) Build Skywrath Mage (Lane) Build Tusk (Middle) Build Naga Siren (Middle) Build Elder Titan (Lane) Build Ursa (Lane) Build Nyx Assassin (Lane) Build Axe (Jungle) Build Ember Spirit (Middle) Build Lifestealer (Lane) Build Shadow Shaman (Middle) Build Earth Spirit (Middle) Build Troll Warlord (Middle) Build

If you guys know any popular guide-makers let me know. I think everyone quit. I just collected their numbers:
- Explosion (11 guides - 1,599,686)
- Purge (22 guides - 8,962,442)
- Greyshark (103 guides - 13,731,521)
- Torte de Lini (140 guides - 42,341,571)

Are you really listing a single battlefury build on ember? BF->crit->more BF is okay, I guess, but stopping at 1 BF makes no sense. If you don't want to stack cleave, just go deso or maelstrom or something straight up.
The cleave from 1 BF is negligible for 4k and an inventory slot, but because cleave stacks additively the second BF pushes your damage into the range where it is a real threat. 2xBF+daed is also the point where ember begins to consistently 1-shot creepwaves, which is extremely important because it makes a lategame ember impossible to push into on a single lane.
Personally I find boots+bottle+(oov)->(drums)->BF->crystalis->BF->daed to be the smoothest one-size-fits-all progression, but any order is fine depending on how much the other team is clumping. I also think Linkens and Skadi are worth a mention in situational.

I forgot to add Battlefury to Situational, but I'll just add it to extension because I want other items in situational.
PS I can see when you guys rate something up (or not)

!!!
I'm working on compare/contrast stats so I can do the annual article of how far the guides have come.

Any statistics that you are interested in/looking for, please tell me so I can include it in the article

We hold about 19-20% of the total subscribed player base (off-hand assumption is 10-15% of the total user base in Dota 2 [subscribed + non-subscribed]).
Hopefully my stats are not off/wrong. I'm terrible at Math.

I think we have consistency in core subscribers, but very far from "control" in terms of individually dominating guides.

PS, I have been updating the previous posts with changes.
|
wtf bane's first point is flexible but ur definitely only ever one point in nightmare at level 3.
The only variations is where you need enfeeble or w/e its called but I virtually never get that skill as a lane support vs (usually) solo offlaners.
usually e/w/w/e/w/r/w/e/e/stats/r/ etc
One in enfeeble once linkens come up lol although its probably good earlier I'm jsut too lazy to cast it.
|
I think he swapped enfeeble and brain sap, because skipping brain sap is kinda shitty
|
sap level 1 is generally pretty ass, although u get it if ur trading with an offlaner but nightmare won't really let you kill him. It combines really well with ur high auto damage to help u win harass wars. Techincally in that situation enfeeble's better but they could have spells and also the enfeeble point feels so weak when u want 1 in nightmare and 2 in sap at level 3
|
Having Nightmare 1 and Enfeeble 2 at level 3 is occasionally worth skipping Brain Sap until 4. But that's massively lane dependent.

What lanes would you do this against, lol? I can't think of any lane where putting someone at 0 damage is better than having them at 30 damage for 20 mana less by enough to be worth a skill point.

It depends a bit on your item progression because a support Bane has a hard time finding the mana for all 4 spells until you get a Staff of Wizardry or Ghost Scepter.
Level 16 support Bane with Arcanes + BKB + Blink has 965 mana when casting each spell once costs 890 mana which is pretty awkward without an additional mana item.

Originally, we stopped leveling Nightmare (2 levels in Nightmare) to max out Enfeeble. But I found that overall, it was just simpler to max out Nightmare + Brain Sap for the easy combo, especially given mana costs (we don't have Soul Ring). Nightmare is maxed because of the range, which, after too many games (as Bane is among my favourite heroes), I found that I always needed that extra range and the Enfeeble effect was negligible since I was playing offensively (and even defensively against ganks, Nightmaring the carry was sufficient).
I'll fix the first 3 levels

I swapped Enfeeble from Nightmare (and now reversed it)
