Destiny posted different settings recently crediting TGR, which just proves my point. You really need to take a lot of things into account too, like the resolution and fps.
If one is to begin experimenting with the advanced stream setting string, they should know what they are getting themselves into. Here's the source for that: http://mewiki.project357.com/wiki/X264_Settings

When I use DXTory for image input, the Xsplit overlays (media files) seem to no longer works. How can I put a logo in my stream when I use DXTory?

I'm taking a guess here. You need to re-arrange the items in your source list, so that your overlays are above the DXTory camera. That will make your images be on top on the DXTory "image".

So I cannot get my stream to look decent. My current settings are
Preset: Faster Quality: Not set VBV Max Bitrate: 2700 VBV Buffer: 1400 Resolution: 1280-720 Frame Rate: 30fps
CPU: i5 2500k Ram: 8g DDR3 VGU: Nvidia 560ti 440 core classified
This was basically from the gun run post earlier and is the closest I can get it to playable. I am running on a broadband line that can support up to 3mbs upload and my computer is easily capable of running 1920-1080 without any issues. However I am getting increasingly frustrated trying to get this thing to work.
I am not sure how to change to Preset: faster&ex:cfg:18 so I just went to faster on the settings.
Posting here because you guys seem the most knowledgeable about this stuff, any thoughts?

If I use screen grabbing by Xsplit, I can see my logo if I arranged the inputs right. With DXTory everything in the area is overwritten.

Ah k, will increase quality to 9 and up the buffer tonight and give it a try. The big thing is even in that vod the text and names and smaller things are really bad quality.
Things that don't move seem fine; but I would prefer better, but the main thing is when something is moving the quality of the moving object just falls apart.

For some reason when I press the hotkey to start recording I get nothing, nothing changes I've even changed the hotkey to many different things and still nothing, Any ideas on how to fix? :x

You are the man, I can finally stream without noticing any lag. When you can stream and forget you are streaming, you are in good shape

Hi there,
this happens when DXTory detect more than 1 program using some kind of DirectDraw/Direct3D to create the content. This includes programs based on Java (like Sc2Gears for example), and EVEN XSplit; also maybe some other desktop gadgets.
Do this: I would recommend you to turn on DXTory, then turn on StarCraft II, press the button to begin capturing video and check if the fps number color goes from green to orange. Only then you turn on XSplit.
If this doesn't solve it, try doing this: while on Sc2, press CTRL+Esc, this will bring up the Start Menu from your PC, then RIGHT-CLICK on anything inside the Sc2 window, which will make it go back to Sc2. Repeat this step and only then press the capture key.
In other words: [sc2 selected] CTRL+ESC RIGHT-CLICK on screen inside [Sc2] CTRL+ESC Right-CLICK on screen inside [Sc2] Press capture Key (F12 by default)
This is a workaround I've used since Sc2Gears or XSplit make DXTory try to capture the wrong thing. Hope this helps you. Good luck!

Hello I am looking for help or recommended settings to use for streaming. First of my specs: Windows 7 Core i5 GTX 460 4GB of RAM
My speedtest: Local: ![[image loading]](http://www.speedtest.net/result/1827419078.png)
Los Angeles: ![[image loading]](http://www.speedtest.net/result/1827423340.png)
My native desktop resolution is 1920x1200
I tried the settings from OP and my stream is very pixelated, thanks for your help.

Any 720p will be pixelated, especially during movement. Depending on the exact model of your cpu, you can tweak the preset setting for better quality, but other than that you don't really have any options to optimize from here. What you need is more upload.

My problem is that I got all configured and i saw the FPS on the corner as I am in the game but when I press the Start/Stop KEY nothing happens UNLESS i got the File Output on.
So i got a low FPS as I am recording to local. How can I record the game source without having to record it on a file.
I can take screenshots without problem.
BTW nice guide!

Thanks, what's a recommended resolution other than 720p with my native 1920x1200 resolution.

Usually half your original size provides the best result, so try aiming for a 600p stream. But really the choice is yours, just try out 480p, 560p and 600p and see what you like the best.

Try opening the entire thread by clicking the "All" pages link and search for your issue . Ahh, I feel bad leaving you there, so: Downgrade or upgrade your DXTory client to fix the issue.
