Dxtory always results in lower fps for me than windowed + screen region. Is it true that you can stream with dxtory with a much lower bitrate? How exactly is that possible? So does that mean you need to have a particularly strong cpu to make dxtory work for you?

Its true you can get lower bitrate but its not really dxtory thing. It helps but is not reason for this. And now question. 60 fps is not enaugh for you? I allways capture and stream 60 fps. Before dxtory I did not get many times even 30 for stream. If you get more fps with screen region thing, then you do something really wrong with dxtory.

IME, there's a performance hit going to windowed mode, but dxtory is a bigger performance hit. I've actually benchmarked a ton of settings, dxtory resulted in a good 5-10fps lower. There's a reason not everyone uses DXtory. I'm just trying to figure out exactly why some people use it. Also, my CPU is not nearly as strong as the OP's, so I can't afford to use DXtory to use more cpu usage, as it's my bandwidth that's very good, just by CPU that's weaker. Not to mention it's a pain in the ass to use and you have to switch scenes if you alt-tab or minimize the game while streaming.

That's interesting that dxtory uses the GPU. So then if you have a weaker cpu, stronger GPU, maybe things would work better? I was running athlon ii x4 3.4ghz/gtx 460. I'll try testing again, but I guess that would be why for some people dxtory is better and for others it's worse. So can you run dxtory on a lower upload or bitrate or something? Why does the OP say he can stream well with just sub-1mb/s up?

I've made some guides myself if you want to check it out, this might be useful for a lot of people, I already posted this guide on 4 other forums with all having different bbcode, so I'm not going to repost it here: http://forums.station.sony.com/ps2/index.php?threads/redcats-guide-to-recording-in-planetside-2-dxtory-ffsplit-obs.80232/ http://www.soundofviolence.eu/index.php?topic=1050.0 Last one is a bit more over-viewable, I hope this helps a lot of people and I would very much recommend using open broadcaster. I will most likely not post here again but yeah, have fun if you have questions post them on the other forums ![]()

I've tried dxtory but it doesn't really change much for me. I still have about 20fps in game when I only press "broadcast" in my xsplit. I don't understand this, my computer is just monster, should be able to stream in 1080p with good graphic settings in game. My cpu usage is not even hitting 70% while streaming. PC: Cpu - core i7-3770k oc 4,5Ghz Gpu - gigabyte gtx 670 windforce Motherboard - gigabyte z77x-ud5h Ram - Kingstone Xyperx 16gb 1333hz System - Windows 7 64bit Xsplit settings: Resolution - 1920x1080 Fps - 30 quality - 8 Bitrate/buffor - 3000/3000 (can't set more, just getting red signal instantly, dunno why i have really good upload - see below) Preset - veryfast/faster (doesn't change anything for me) http://speedtest.net/result/2498959298.png I have also tried lower resolution but i have about 5fps more so it doesn't change anything, just unplayable. Any solution? PS. i'm trying to stream World of Warcraft.

Might be the case. @Topic For some reason, I can't select Dxtory camera in XSplit. The "Add Camera" button doesn't have any options available - I can just click it. But then, nothing happens.

CPU: Ivy i7 3770 GPU: EVGA Nvidia GTX770 MB: ASUS P8Z68-V LE RAM: 12gb Crucial 1333hz Windows 7 64b Xsplit Settings: Res: 1920x1080 FPS: 30 Codec X.264, 500 Bitrate, CBR Mode CBR On, Key Int 2, Preset Faster. VBV Buffer 1000. Dxtory Settings: I followed the guide on page one so its pretty much default at this point. Speedtest: ![]() The problem I have isn't so much how the stream looks, but how it feels sluggish/lag while I'm playing while streaming compared to when I'm not. When I'm not I don't experience any lag and it feels great yet when I try to stream it feels like I'm being hindered.

All you need to check is that your game/source is playing to the default speaker in Windows. Speaking of, what OS are you running? You normally do not need to use 'stereo mix'. But please explain how and what you're trying to stream. On January 14 2014 03:50 Kaashoed wrote: Hello, I just followed al your steps but I can't seem to let it work. I did everything as you said. I want to stream League of Legends and the green numbers appear in the top left corner, but whenever I press F12, where my start/stop recording is set to, the screen freezes for around 2 seconds and than goes on, while the numbers stay green. I also tried to set the hotkey to a different key, but same result. The profile in the Dxtory is League of Legends(TM) Client and my XSplit has Dxtory Video 1 as source. Can anyone help me with this? This sounds like a problem with the capture. Can you test with another game next?

CPU: Ivy i7 3770 GPU: EVGA Nvidia GTX770 MB: ASUS P8Z68-V LE RAM: 16gb Crucial 1866 Windows 7 64b Speedtest: ![]() Xsplit Video: Codec X.264, Bitrate 2000, Mode CBR, Preset Veryfast, VBV Buffer 2000 Xsplit Audio: AAC LC HQ, Bitrate 96, Format 44.1 Khz mono Xsplit General Settings: 25fps, 1280x720, Scale Point Actual. When running Xsplit I Add the Dxtory camera and capture BF4 from Dxtory. Dxtory Video: Dxtory Video Codec, 30fps, DirectShow Output, Synchronize Video FPS, Scaling 75% Dxtory Audio: Dxtory Audio Codec, PCM, PCM 48000 Hz, 16bit, Stereo I'm currently recording from Dxtory and capturing it with Xsplit, but whenever I go live the game (in this case BF4) feels sluggish, my ping goes up roughly 10, and the game becomes pretty much unplayable without raging from deaths I normally would not have if I wasn't streaming. My fps wasn't bad at all, ranging from 70-100fps. I checked my CPU load and never went over 70% when live, nor did I have any frames dropped at 2000 bitrate with Twitch giving the green light the entire time. What settings do I need to tweak?
