Hello, when I stream 720p (25 fps) using xsplit, my SCII on low goes down to about 20-30 fps.
When not streaming, on Ultra I get about 75 fps.

Specs:
Phenom II X6 145t (2.7Ghz, TurboBoost to 3.2Ghz, locked.)
Nvidia Geforce 450
4 GB DDR3 1333mhz RAM

First, did it use to be different, or have you just recently started streaming?

If you can provide a sample of the audio issue, I'd like to take a closer look. The 'useloopback' should fix most issues, but if for some reason not, we'd be very interested in working with you to find the cause. Have you also tried to use the 'interleave audio and video' option (pic) in your channel setup?

Just FYI: We will release v. 1.1 in a few days which has the useloopback option enabled by default, as well as a lot of other audio quality improvements.

Edit: Can you post which audio codec you are using too?

It sounded like helicopter sound, by using the "loopback" the music (internal) wasn't choppy anymore, however the mic was stil making robot sounds. So i had to trick the mic to go thru a "mixer", basically looped it out from stereo sound plug into mic plug (this mic was usb so i had the back port clear), and then using virtual audio cable i put mic and internal sounds into line 1 which was treated as microphone. It solved the issue of sound not being choppy, my mic was now acting like the music before and wasn't "robotic". Also i did try using interleave audio and video, turned them on and off multiple times and didn't change anything. I tryed using every codec, eventually i stopped with 22k or 16k KHZ mp3. (It had same issue with any of the codecs). I haven't tryed the new 1.1, but i hope it fixed some of the issues, it takes 30 minutes to set it up.

I used to stream on a different comp but in way worse quality, now I'm doing 720p.
All my vods that are from like July+ are on the comp mentioned above.

@Wold
We don't have mp3 audio in XSplit. Maybe that's just a typo?

@Frostfire
Unfortunately, your cpu is not able to keep up in 720p. Streaming is hard on the cpu and 20-30 fps ingame is about what is to be expected on a cpu like yours.

Should I go down to 480p?

I can stream GW2 fine using screen capture, I have similar specs btw. I have low frame rate using DXtory and GW2.

There should not be any significant mouse lag when using Dxtory, but if you are recording using Dxtory to record your computer's harddrive have to be up to par to keep up.

Why not use the latest version? Although I'm not affiliated with the software, I know the programmer have made a lot of optimizations, and specifically on new games it would be wise to use latest version for optimum compatibility. Latest version is still free to try (just have the 'Dxtory' watermark in it).

I haven't streamed in a long time and recently decided to try again since Comcast raised my speed. However, my old setup of xsplit + dxtory doesn't seem to be working. My login info is in xsplit, dxtory is capturing to DirectShow and sending it to xsplit, I click broadcast and . . . no frames encode! It just says "0 frames encoded" at the top of xsplit continuously. Going to my URL at twitch.tv, I can verify that it's not working. Anyone have any ideas?

Edit: fixed by specifying a location in Xsplit. I guess the "default" server was down.

I got a i7 3770k
Geforce 460 gtx
16 Ram
On Extreme setting when I play normally its jumps from 100-110 fps...even in big battles...
When I turn on Dxtory...10 fps is lost.....another 10 when i put the game to windowed mode...after that turning xsplit on drops down another 20 fps....so im at 60fps and in big battles its about 10-20 fps.....is this normal? Im at 1280 720 25 fps...when i turn everything on low graphic settings im at 60-70 fps in big battles.... and about 100-200 fps normally...jumps alot....my CPU is only working on max 30% during streaming....is my GPU too slow? also if I turn down the streaming resoultion or the gamesound there is very little difference...
Im just a zerg

You are very likely bottlenecked by your GPU yes. 'Extreme' settings are very tough on any hardware when streaming. The drops/performance you mention is within what is expected imho.

What are your numbers on say 'High' and 'Low' settings?

I heard there was some gamesource optimization for a few games including League of Legends in the 1.1 patch, but I swear it's running worse than it used to. I get 10-20fps playing on 2560x1440 (normally 250+ with my 2600k and 680) and capturing in xsplit with gamesource at 720p60. Using screen region gives me much better ingame performance (30-45 fps) but the preview screen looks like it's running at 20-24 fps or something, even though I have aero disabled when using screen region.

I really really really really wish there was some way for me to use a capture card and split the stream to directly feed the video into xsplit without capturing my screen... but I can't because I chose a 2560x1440 monitor. Is there anything I can do?

I really don't want to use dxtory.

I have used years program called UScreenCapture (free program). I was so sure that my program is better then DxTory. I was wrong. If some one want to test out UScreenCapture then you can find it here http://www.umediaserver.net/umediaserver/download.html

Problem is that USC is virtual camera and can capture what ever is on screen but its limited to 30 FPS. If its installed then its just service on background doing nothing. When some program want to use that then it start eating CPU. And more FPS you want, more CPU it needs.

So i tested both program with same settings. 1080 resolution with 30 FPS and xsplit converted it to 720p stream. both streams worked great but ingame FPS differents where huge. I dont have some hyper computer. Quad core Q8400 processor with HD4870 graphics. So without any recording i get SC2 with low graphic 60-70 FPS. With USC i get 10-20, sometimes more but not much FPS and with DxTory i get 30-50 FPS. I must say that USC taked little less CPU then DxTory (but both times CPU where over 90%), but experience where totaly different. I looked over videos and there where no big difference in there.

Finally looks like i buy myself dxtory But still. UScreenCapture is free and do the job. Atleast I have 100/20 mbit/s network to use

I have a streaming question for whoever can help me - I've been using xsplit, and my game actually doesn't lag that badly (it does with bad internet). I'm a student at Wayne State University, and there are many free internet connections available all around campus, some are terrible - really fast - but really bad bandwidth. So it'll load pages after waiting doing nothing for as second, but the page loads in an instant almost. This is terrible for streaming - cause the fps just drops whenever you aren't getting bandwidth. But in the Law library the internet seems to be amazing at all times - so my game is fine

Now my issue, I've only been told about my multiple people - there's a big flickering problem, like black flashes. My game is fine, the stream is smooth as can be - but random flickering? Anyone else have this problem/can help me? Can dxtory help me? Thanks.... my stream is http://www.justin.tv/nistacular

Watched your last video and did not see any flashes but I think I know what you mean. Usually its fixable with antialiasing but dxtory will give you better fps in game and you dont need to use antialiasing so its allways usefull to use.

Unless the flickering is actually caused by your stream dropping and restarting, then 9 our of 10 times the cause for flickers is that you play a true fullscreen game and captures it with Screen Region. We do not support true fullscreen games with that capture method, so you have to use a different one, either our GameSource or Dxtory. Alternatively you can (likely) change your game to run in Fullscreen windowed mode (which is fine for SC2).
