Gaming PC =====> HDMI Splitter =====> Monitor The Capture PC needs some sort of capture device made by someone like Blackmagic Design, Avermedia, or Hauppauge. You run XSplit and set the capture device as an input, then set up the rest of the scene, and away you go. This is a great idea if you can afford it, because the Gaming PC can run graphics on Ultra, and the Capture/Stream PC can crank up the quality & preset. EDIT put the capture/stream pc in the right splace.

and my other PC can run most games max. But how much would a capture device cost? that sounds like an awful lot of technical work too ):

But how much would a capture device cost? that sounds like an awful lot of technical work too ): You should double check your laptop CPU's performance in the TechArp encoding benchmark. A good rule of thumb is that you need to be comfortably above 60 to be able to capture and stream. If the laptop is the capture/streaming PC, there are fewer options for capture. You could try the Hauppauge HD-PVR ($200) and use gamesource to feed the Hauppauge video to XSplit. But the Hauppauge is component in. If your GPU outputs DVI, you'll need a DVI splitter ($20) and a DVI to component adapter ($60). If it only does HDMI, you'll need an HDMI splitter ($20) and an HD Fury III ($250) or other converter (??). There's also the Blackmagic intensity shuttle, but there are only a handful of motherboards that support USB 3.0 at the level that that device requires. The other options are all PCI and require a desktop.

What is the minimum upload required for 480p and for 720p? My specs: i5 3570k @ 4.3ghz 16gb ram 4850 radeon Upload speed is 512kb(which goes to max 72kbits/s). If it is enough for 480p atleast what settings should I use? thanks

My specs are: e6600 dual core - > overclocked to 3000 MHz 6 gigs ram 4890 ati radeon with 2x ddr5 I have optics so my upload speed i sufficent for 1080p streaming, however, even if i try streaming in 480p, my audio isn't fluent, it keeps breaking up no matter which codec/setting i'm using. (The software i use is xsplit.)

According to the recommendations https://www.xsplit.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8333, the stream alone for 360p@25fps requires ~500 Kbps. But you need some additional upstream bandwidth to play the game. At best you might be able to do 360p@15fps. Might.

If you can provide a sample of the audio issue, I'd like to take a closer look. The 'useloopback' should fix most issues, but if for some reason not, we'd be very interested in working with you to find the cause. Have you also tried to use the 'interleave audio and video' option (pic) in your channel setup? Just FYI: We will release v. 1.1 in a few days which has the useloopback option enabled by default, as well as a lot of other audio quality improvements. Edit: Can you post which audio codec you are using too?

Go over your Dxtory settings and make sure it processes directshow output. If that didn't help then you probably need to reinstall Dxtory - or even consider rolling back your Windows to a previous 'restore point'.
