Ad a) You probably forgot to add the DXTory as a "camera". Ad b) I don't understand what you mean by this. In a) you state it does go live, now it isn't? It is supposed to show VODs when you're not live.

Yea. I added it as a camera to scene 1. Dxtory 1 is all it shows. What I mean by it doesn't go live is, when I select to go live to j.TV, then I go to my page, its not showing I'm live. When I stop the recording, it uploads it as a blank cod file.

Vod. Smart phone owns me :d

You keep saying it doesn't go live, but it does - the proof is that you see a VOD - blank or not, but everything seems to work about going live.
Please paste some screen shots of DXTory settings, including the window "DXtory Video Setting" (it's the yellow button) and the XSplit main window while streaming. I can only guess, but it sounds like you skipped a configuration somewhere. Additionally: - Is the XSplit title bar indicating you're live? If not, stream to a different server (location setting). - Can you stream without DXTory? - Did you by accident forget to configure the "DXTory Video setting" or did you maybe configuere something else than "Output1"? - Did you enable "DirectShow Output" under the DXTory settings tab "Movie", "Output" box?

Sorry. I haven't been home to get screen shots, but I followed the video and input the same settings. I believe my problem is getting DxTory into xsplit. I'll post the screens when I get home tomorrow if I have time.
But here is what I remember happening. I would launch Skyrim in full screen mode. Press f12. The top left would turn orange indicating that its capturing. Thend I would go to xsplit, go live. It turned red at the top indicating I was live. Then I would go back to skyrim, load up my save, on my other PC I would go to my stream and nothing. So I'll get those pics up asap

Weird, my DXtory won't work. I press F12 and the numbers dont go orange. We didn't change any settings and my friend is having the same issue.

That is a known bug that happens (for some) when you opt not to do the local recording (with DXTory). Downgrade DXTory to v. .108 Mentioned several times in the thread: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewpost.php?post_id=12504471

Just wanted to say this method of streaming is working far better than XSplit alone.
I'm still tinkering with the settings, but I'm running a Quad i5 2.66ghz with a crap upload of <1.00mbps and I'm streaming at 30FPS no problem. Absolutely awesome. Xsplit alone was dragging me down to like 10FPS.
Tyvm!

Hmmm! Still working out the kinks, but I've run into a problem with getting Dxtory to record sound from my mic.
It's picking up all the game sounds great, but nothing from my mic. Under the audio set up, I have 2 sources. First from Speakers (in game sound), and the second from my webcam (my mic). Both are set to record sound, but my commentary isn't making it in the stream.
In Xsplit under the General settings under Audio I have my mic (webcam) selected, with silence detection unchecked.
Under my sound hardware my webcam is set to my default mic, and detects sound no problem.
Anyone have any idea what I am missing?

DXTory is only capturing the video - no audio is affected/controlled/used by it (well, except for local recording of course).
It's unfortunately not the first time a mic doesn't get picked up by XSplit. Try enabling Stereo Mix if you haven't already (just Google it) and/or try out VAC (Virtual Audio Cable) to circumvent the issue. You could also try different (newer/older) sound card drivers or report it on the XSplit forum.

Oh I had no idea DXTory didn't capture sound. Will keep looking into it. Thanks for the reply.

I wanted to leave a short Thank-You here, working out brilliantly and a friend of mine already had DXtory so it's all good

So I've been trying to figure out my stream for the past few days, and no luck. Whenever I stream, and check the recorded video that gets sent to Twitch, the video just sits at 0:00 and I'm unable to play it. I updated Flash Player, tried it in Firefox and Chrome, but it just sits at 0:00... any ideas?? I'm getting regular numbers for kbits when I start streaming, so it's not like it's not being sent to Twitch.
Comp Specs: i7 6-core CPU 3.33 GHz 12 gb ram 64 bit win 7 nvidia geforce gtx 590

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've been struggling with this for a while now. Thanks!

Is there a way to change the jtv server that you stream to?

Thanks for checking, I appreciate it! Yeah I tried later in the day and they worked fine. Was streaming perfectly up until about 30 min. ago, now whenever I try to start streaming XSplit starts with a bitrate of about 1kbits, then goes to 0 and all frames are continuously dropped. Just can't seem to go more than a day without problems :\

Hey, I've been following your guide and it does me great wonders. however whenever I try to stream Street fighter 4, it doesn't ever show up. I followed everything and it works for SC2 but for SSF4 (PC), it won't record/stream.
Any thoughts?
