I set up dxtory and xsplit using the settings in the vieo guides and am still getting a verry choppy stream. here is a link http://www.twitch.tv/riclee88/b/300797310 My upload is .9mb local and .4mb to San Francisco [...] Max Bitrate: 500 You're trying to stream 500 kbit/s (+32 kbit/s audio) on a 400 kbit/s upload. That won't work ![]() Try streaming to a different server (San Franciso may be the closest, but it seems the vast majority uses that server, so it may pay off to try a different server due to ingestion). Also, in the latest XSplit released there's a "Test bandwidth" button in the Twitch.tv settings window - use it, and set your combined bitrate (video+audio) to just below the test result. Note: It is important to do this while playing SC2 or running a good high-food action-packed replay. I strongly encourage people not to blindly trust the result of Speedtest.net. It is only a rough estimate on the bandwidth to whatever server you choose, but it will never be the actual streaming server at Twitch.tv. Therefore use the far more precise measurement feature (the "Test Bandwidth" button) that Twitch.tv now has built into their XSplit plugin.

If so, does it crash when not used? If not, you're kind of in the wrong thread ![]() b) Have you already tried re-installing Flash and XSplit? c) Can you stream to another provider, ie. Own3d? Livestream.com only allows for 500 kbps unless you plan on buying their premium service: http://www.livestream.com/platform/premium_features_and_pricing

The reason is that something is "stuck" and still using the old capture driver. I had this problem initially when I tried DXTory the first time too.

a little stutter is normal, its even when xsplit is closed. i forgot that, and tought i had absolutley NO stutter usually. wrong. i compared the stuttering dxtory+xsplit / xsplit only, and with the screensource dxtory its MUCH smoother. thank you very much.

Without Dxtory open and not recording/streaming I get an easy 70 FPS while playing WoW, but when I start recording/streaming it drops down about 50% so I get about 35 FPS, then when I open xsplit it drops down to 25 FPS and when I start streaming, I get 15 FPS. How do I solve this? Did you try this: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewpost.php?post_id=12501769 You say that it drops 50% when you start the DXTory "record/stream" (before XSplit is started). DXTory does not stream anything, so I assuming you're solely talking about recording. You may want to avoid that - the drop could be related to your hardware not being up to the job. The rest of the drops are almost certainly related to my link though some amount of FPS drop is mandatory.

Unfortunately your hardware is severely limiting your options. Depending on the specific model of your CPU, I would suggest a 480p stream - maybe 560p. My suggestion for settings: Stream: 480p @ 20 or 25 FPS Location (assuming Twitch.tv): Use a server near you Preset: Default Quality: 6 Max bitrate/buffer: 600/600 (<-- adjust this as high you can while avoiding lag - keep under 800) Audio: 44.1KHz, 16 bit stereo, 64.000 bit/s Monitor your CPU usage while streaming - if it is ever maxed and it lags, you need to lower stream resolution.

They show on his XSplit too. Make sure he is streaming in the same aspect ratio as his desktop/game is. If you play in 16 : 9, use a 16 : 9 stream resolution too. One sec, I'll find a thread describing this in detail. Here: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=195391¤tpage=11#219
