It´s just makes no sense for me that the prices vary that high only because of the plastic that is used. There must be a way to tinker. :D You could always try POM.

meh I´m thinking about a nano PVC coating for PVC floors. It has somewhat the same requirement. It resist high mechanical use and bright spectrum of chemical cleaners. PLUS lotus effect fuck yeah. xD Hmpf.

Either way, I'm still interested in obtaining a mechanical keyboard. I can't find something that really suits my needs without going over the top with price. Preferably, I'd like the keyboard's price to not go over €60. It should also look really sober (like Das Keyboard, only without the ridiculous price tag) and it should be AZERTY. No backlighting, no extra USB ports, nothing fancy. However it still has to have that magic that apparently mechanical keyboards have. I want Brown switches or perhaps Blue. No Red or Black as I want something non-linear and apparently Blue/Brown are good for typing. Closest thing I've found is the Qpad MK-50, but it costs €80. So I wouldn't mind something a little cheaper. I like Cherry as a brand but I can't find the G80 in AZERTY with Blue switches (the G80-3000LSCFR-0). That keyboard is also €70 which I find a bit expensive. The cheapest mechanical keyboard I found is TteSports KB-MEK007FR which is black switches @ €50. q_q

Now the page just says "out-of-stock" and I haven't received any info about my preorder (they charged me already). Maybe I should email them. If you have already paid and it seems to be out of stock I would get in contact with them asap to get an explanation. They're pretty expensive for keyboards and from some of the reviews I've read apparently some mechanical keyboards go bad after a bit (not MK-50, but other keyboards which I cba to recall their names). Considering their price I find that pretty unacceptable, I've been using the same rubber dome IBM keyboard for 5 years now and it probably cost €10, if that. That same keyboard is actually second hand too. Either way, I'm still interested in obtaining a mechanical keyboard. Maybe try find a filco or something second hand?

Why doesnt QuickFire Pro work with all USB cables? QuickFire Pro uses a high quality USB cable with improved signal quality and power characteristics. Some basic USB cables create too much signal noise or can’t carry enough power for QuickFire pro to work. They might work with the Backlight turned off and no added devices installed in the USB hub, but we highly recommend to use the original high quality CM Storm QuickFire Pro USB cable. It's from the Pro and not the Rapid FAQ section but the issues are the same. Online reviews on similar gold plated cables haven't been promising as many people have complained about poor quality or faulty cables. So my question is can anyone lead me in the right direction to finding a compatible and working alternative? Many Thanks. http://www.cmstorm.com/en/products/keyboards/quickfirerapid/ *Edit* Finally received my e-mail acknowledging that they'll send me a replacement cable, but they don't have a direct source for any extra cables in the future.

Many Thanks. http://www.cmstorm.com/en/products/keyboards/quickfirerapid/ I've had success in the past with companies sending me a replacement cable if the first one fails. If it happens often enough to be a FAQ, maybe they can give/sell you a cable. I would suggest contacting CM and giving it a shot.

sry if this has already been answered but can you help me (or redirect me) or advise me: i'm looking for a mechanical keyboard (obviously), but with few specifics: -not sure which switch would be best mostly for typing, but also a bit of gaming (dota and sc if it helps)? I've read that people recommend brown switches, but is there any else option or those are go-to switches? -if by any chance you know that they have keys in croatian (since most of my work will be translating so it's necessary :/ ) -backlight would be nice since most of my work i do at night, but it's not obligatory -since i don't live alone something quieter would be nice -willing to part from ~100$ from my wallet I know some of the things contradict themselves a bit, but this is why i came here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've looked into the QPAD MK-50 and I've decided I'll probably go get that one, with Brown switches. Problem is, I want an AZERTY and nothing else. However, the manufacturer says that the keycaps are removable for cleaning, so couldn't I just swap the keys around to get a normal AZERTY even if I get a normal QWERTY? I know that in Windows it's possible to change the layout of your keyboard (often in SC2 it's very annoying to have all my hotkeys change at once because of this xD). http://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B00BLHWY2I/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&psc=1&s=computers#productDetails Should I go for it? It's what I'm leaning towards. I think I would rather get this keyboard with Brown switches than a G80 with Blue switches (that I can't even find, mind you). Other possibility is Steelseries http://www.amazon.fr/Steelseries-Clavier-gaming-104-boutons/dp/B004ZRFISS/ref=pd_cp_computers_0 Thing is I don't know what color switches this thing has and if I'm going to put money into a keyboard, I must have brown (or blue if it's a really good deal). Edit: Nevermind, found another vendor than Amazon, same keyboard for €5 less, in AZERTY, np, np. Also Steelseries have Black switches. I think I'm good, unlesss anyone has some last minute things to say.

Budget: ~$50-90 CA tax (8%) and Shipping (I will add up $20 if it includes backlighting), preferably non-refund since it's a gift and don't wanna cut open the box for the label Switch: unknown, thinking Blues/Reds/Browns Size: TKL or Full Back lighting: Preferred, my friend tells me his brother games in the dark and could use it Buying from: Newegg/Amazon anywhere that can get it shipped by next week so hopefully in stock in CA Warehouse I'm doing some looking myself since I've bought my own already, but any help would be nice. I'm not finding QFRs for lower than $70 so that'll be my go to case if I can't find one by the end of tomorrow (unless I can get the keyboard before Friday next week).

Quickfire TK is the only thing that barely scrapes the price and still has all the things you're looking for (the lay out is a little weird but it's functional enough). If you're willing to spend more money for backlighting, Keycool 87's are the cheapest boards with superior build quality over the TK. The Logitech mechanical is also an option even though (personally speaking) it looks pretty busy. If not, then either go with the QFR or TK. + Show Spoiler + DON'T GO BLACKWIDOW

It has MX Red switches so it's really quiet if you tap lightly unlike Blues that click and Browns that you pretty much have to bottom out. However, the thing I like most about this keyboard is that it's offered in a variety of different layouts. I was previously using a Zowie Celeritas keyboard solely because it was offered in the Nordic Layout and I was very pleased to find that this keyboard offered the same thing. It also has a programmable red back light and grooved 1-6 WASD keys for MMOs plus a USB port that I put a wireless mouse receiver in, reducing wire clutter ![]()
