Any cherry MX switch aside from the blue one is noticably quieter, with the blacks and reds being the quietest in the bunch. There's some comparison video's available on youtube, take a look there. They are expensive, Cherry is the cheap alternative from keyboard co. There is a post outlining which cherry has which switches a few pages back.

About a year ago I owned a ducky with browns so I decided to go for a keyboard with linear switches this time around. So far I'm loving the red switches. Right before this I was using a qsenn, and while I can't necessarily say this keyboard is above and beyond better than the qsenn, it definitely is an excellent keyboard. I especially like the sound of the keys bottoming out for osu! ^^ i've got the same Rosewill here. Reds are indeed a joy to press and listen to. word of advice, take care when connecting and disconnecting the cable to the keyboard. It's not like you're going to be doing it a lot but if you read reviews, you'll know that there's a big issue with the port on the keyboard. The joints are fragile and can be dislodged. I've had mine for aroudn 4 months I think. I added some tape and stuff around so that it never disconnects.

However i dont intend to unplug it and it did have a secure fit but still knowledge is power.

The keyboard was awesome and I was thoroughly in love until I spilled a full glass of porter directly into the keys. After letting it dry (first mistake i think, should have cleaned immediately), finding almost all the keys completely gummed up, then cleaning it with only water (also to no avail), I tried swapping each switch individually w/ a q-tip dipped in isopropyl alcohol. I would clean around the switch, then depress them w/ the q-tip and give each switch mound a nice rim job (hehe). Then I would grab the switch between the nails of my thumb and middle finger and repeatedly move them up and down (so the isopropyl alcohol would hopefully get spread to any points of contact that were gumming up and remove the beer residue). Then I gave each switch another rim job and let it dry. That pretty much worked and it got the keyboard back to about 95% functionality. Occasionally, some of the keys resist a little bit for the first press after not using the keyboard for a while. The only key I really have any problems with is the 'e' key. I think it's seating is a little off or something as not all key presses register on it, but if you give it a firm decisive click, it usually works and will work for a while. I've just gotten used to clicking my 'e' hard. tl;dr: Cleaning ducky DK1087, cherry browns, w/ isopropyl alcohol + q-tip revives it from near death after have 10 oz. of porter dumped directly onto the keys.

When orange juice was spilled over my CM Storm QFR I just simply used my warranty and got a new one. No regrets other than the one month waiting period.

Just going by what you're saying if noise isn't an issue I'd go with blue switches or browns if it is. Either way I recommend you try first. Cleaner board, I trust it more. Don't need backlighting either. The price just doesn't really make sense to me for what you're getting.

Well, I've only tried my friend's BlackWidow, and blue switches seem nice. I've heard brown switches are quieter, but what is the difference? My friend's bw doesn't seem too loud to me, but what is the difference in how the keys respond to typing? And what kind of keyboard would you recommend for good blue/brown switches? ![]()
