Why do I imagine Vikings hovering above the tickle beams of stalkers and sentries who impotently shoot at them while they bully the poor cliff walkers?

Why would you want to buff a playstyle which needs no micro at all and is in general extremly boring to watch?

Go play LoL please, you won't be missed.

Good luck in PvZ.... You need HT to counter Vipers otherwise they just yank your Colossus, but it's too gas intensive to have both unless you're established on 3 base. I think if Vipers are Lair tech you'll see every zerg doing a big Hydra/Viper push that hits before HT.. way too strong IMO.

Hope you're aware mech and air armor are already merged.

You can mech in all matchups in BW. Bio only works in vZ.

I don't see how Overseer speed buff helps Zerg against WM... Maybe they should have made Blinding Cloud work on WM instead, this way they would buff Viper and help Zerg with the same change.

1. Overseer speed buff (after upgrade)

TvZ feels quite balanced until the very late game when there are so many skirmishes and so many Widow Mines. We want to keep the really exciting gameplay while finding ways to help out Zerg in those specific battles. Having to micromanage your army in every engagement, morph new Banelings, manage 4-5 (or more) bases, and morph new Overseers can be a bit too much. So we’re going to test giving Overseers a speed buff after the speed upgrade is purchased, so that we keep the early- and mid-game the same while specifically helping out the Zerg in the later stages. They still wouldn't move as fast as say, Mutalisks, but perhaps late game TvZ goes more evenly if Overseers don't lag behind and get killed in most late engagements.

i must be blind or delusional.

every ZvT ive seen the zerg struggling to GET to the late game on even ground not IN the late game on even ground.

the real debate from what ive seen and read is the difficulty and way of surviving the 3/3 v 2/2 aggression. how is that the very late game, what the fuck?

im really really really really really really confused. am i wrong?

You're right, but I think that's where they want to help out. Don't know how much it'll actually help, I'd have preferred a buff to allow a "smoother" transition to T3 for the Zerg, but the Viper buff helps there to some extend too, imo.
Not the best way to deal with the issues that are in the Matchup, but a way that don't affect the other matchups at all.

No way, way too strong. The Terran would have absolutely no AoE dmg that's not affected by Blinding Cloud.

I think the best idea to help zerg against terran is to put 3/3 upgrades on lair tech

Plenty of control involving positioning and spreading out as mech. Try a-moving mech armies against vipers and see how well that works.

Some of us are getting pretty tired of MMM into scv pulls in TvP and MMMM congalines on 3base in TvZ. Making mech viable could breathe a ton of life into terran match-ups which have arguably gotten just worse with HOTS.

vipers with full energy is a weird suggestion...any spell caster that comes out with full energy is gonna be OP.

dont get me wrong, overseer buff i have no complaints...though no good comments about either. im just confused as to what they consider the very late game?

(taking a stab here) knowing blizzard anything past 4 minute 6 pooling on steppes of war would be considered late game for all we know <3

Viper change is a great idea. Zerg sorely need mid-/lategame buffs vs P

I can't see the problem with the Vipers. Right now they are going into battle with full energy anyways. After the patch they will be ready to fight 30 secs earlier... Unless the zerg is hitting some tight timing, there is no difference really(offensively). Actually that makes hydra/roach more viable and zerg will not be forced into swarm hosts 90% of the time (but still... HTs). Also vikings are getting huge buff with the mech comp and they are direct counter to vipers. Just imagine what 3/3 vikings will do to the poor things.

This so much. Race balance is a zero-sum game. For the love of Bob they should use the simplest/most elegant method to get the desired result, not strive for buffs just b/c buffs make better pr.

On the proposed changes; yes, no, no. While a Mech buff makes sense, I'd prefer one that doesn't remove an option for players. Instead of combining mech ground and air upgrades, make both a bit cheaper or w/e.

Viper buff is going full retard. Static defense, swarm host, viper is already one of the dumbest compositions in game. This will make it much more desirable.

You realize that in this strat - "static defense, SH, viper" - the vipers are always full energy ? That buff changes nothing there.

Oh no! Some korean terrans won against zergs! There must be a problem because you know... that's unacceptable!

What about faster overseers give better detection vs mines? What about blinding cloud now finally viable? Without these 2 I think it's pretty fine. And please, no, it's not because some top korean terrans win against zerg that you suddenly have problems vs MMMM. And now you got 2 buffs, so things will be even better.

A few days ago I studied the top 10 korean gm league, and came to the conclusion that the top 10 zergs were doing better against terran than the top 10 terrans against zerg (57,6 % vs 53,9 %)(http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=424497&currentpage=3)

So your "trouble" against MMMM is pure fiction, and things will go more in your way after these 2 buffs.

I guess you've never seen the words "small", "sample" and "size" used in a sentence before..?

Oh I did, but those zergs claiming that tvz is sooooo T favoured base their theory on WCS season 2, 1 tournament. They base it on a few games. That's small sample size

That is not true, we based our opinions on our performance on Ladder, I can beat a Gold or Plat T, cause i have better macro and mechanics, but not to a Terran of my level, all the games that i go macro, I lose because the overwhelming stream of units or if i stay until late game i lose cause i run out of resources, T are so cost- effective

Tell me why?
In such a situation the Zerg has more than enough time to fill the enrgy up. The buff will only affect a very specific timing, a timing where the Zerg needs the Viper but they have no energy.

How can they even think about giving full energy to a caster that has a spell specifically designed to gain energy? Jesus christ, just make Consume faster and that's it.
