I like the fact that they aren't hesitant to scrap units that don't play out the way they intended.

Sweet. Now it'll be range 50 missiles vs range 50 missiles instead of range 12 tanks vs 12 tanks.
just kidding. Supreme commander has a similar variance of missile launchers and artillery vs tanks dynamics that works well, it's just weird that we might see this in SC2.

I don't think this is the attitude to have. Blizzard doesn't make games as an esport......they make them for a wider range of people than just you.

Why should I care about casuals? They can still make a good game for everyone with an esports focus, they aren't mutually exclusive. This is TL, not the Bnet forums.

so happy the shreader is gone, but I really don't agree with the phonex range negating the need for the tempest.. in the blizzcon build while totally OP the tempest gave P players to go stargate without having to build robo units aswell and allowed you to be an 'air protoss' with gateway units in tow... this is something phonex range dsnt at all allow and simply makes them a little better to deal with muta's...

...some good changes and some interesting ones... I wish they would just bring out a beta for us to play around with but by the sounds of the changes they have made and are still making, i can't see a beta being anywhere close to being ready...

I don't know that I want "air protoss" to be an option. It doesn't exactly fit with their particular idiom of being an honorable warrior culture with superior technology.

What is a carrier..

Fitting. It's huge, destructive, and an obvious display of Protoss superiority to the lesser races. I don't want to see swarms of protoss air units capable of winning the game with some zealot ground support.

Let me sum it up like this: I hate the idea of the Tempest and will do/say anything to ensure that it dies before arrival. Keep the Carrier, the phoenix isn't a BAD replacement for the Corsair, and Void Rays are infinitely more useful than Scouts ever were.

Also (unrelated to my response to the carrier bit) why not just give the Viper...oh...idk, an ability that we already know works and feels very Zergy...like...CONSUME.

All these new gimmicky units are wonderful, but how about they spend some time on making TvP a match-up that goes beyond MMM? ;/

I think they are trying to do exactly that with every new unit coming out of the factory.

Maybe they should try vultures, spider mines and tanks that actually do damage to protoss units. I don't get the desire to make a bunch of cartoony units when we've had vultures and mines for so long.

Looking from the outside where we can only go on what they give us.

It sure feels like their development is a dartboard of bad ideas

I think it was. I've seen it used many times (squirtle v stephano at IPL a couple of days ago, for one), and it's still developing.

I really like the changes, bit skeptical about the tempest and terran nuke2.0 though

They need to have a way for Zergs to break bases, or weaken the overall strength of turtling, or complete re-think the way maps are created.

Wtf they removed the shredder instead of just fixing it? Whatever happened to area denial and aoe? Spider mines didn't work on workers or vultures, why not just make a somewhat similar exception? Jeeze everything else is awesome but I can't believe that shit.

I feel like between Siege Tanks, bunkers and PFs, that Terran has plenty of Area Control.

What the fuck is with Blizzard's fixation on having a unit with an ability that makes no sense at all? Viper consuming minerals for energy? No other race has anything like that, it's absurd to think an opponent could make a few vipers and then roll out with full energy if they just walk over to their opponents third and rob their minerals. No replicant and shredder! yay. Glad Blizzard is taking this route. Hopefully we'll see some good innovations soon!

By far this.

Sounds like they didn't expect terran to be fairly compelte or something, figured that was the idea behind the first one being called wings of liberty afterall. Tempest sounds a lot better, a useable tier 3 siege unit sounds pretty awesome.

I hope protoss gets something else now that the ditto is gone, maybe reaver and remove colossi? One can only dream.

I really dislike how they are approaching this. For example, the long range missle is designed to break siege tank lines, but, what about the other matchups?

We could even look at the ghost change, and how incorrect that was. Blizzard set out to reduce snipe verse ultralisks and brood lords. But instead, they reduced the ghosts snipe verse almost everything in all matchups except high templars. If they said that the ghosts versatility was to strong and wanted to nerf it through all matchups, that would be okay, but thats not what they said.

The point I'm trying to make is that they are trying to insert units with extremely specific roles without looking at it throughout all matchups. Which is bad.

Looks like they're headed in the right direction. Like others I'm pretty happy about the replicant and shredder being gone. I hope they do more to make Mech TvP viable, they seemed to indicate as much when they talked about changing Terran factory units.
