Or air spider mines? Hellions? Scrap both, give terrans vultures with real spider mines. I mean, they go to such lengths to not be BW, but all they're really doing is changing one tiny factor of a BW spell or unit, for the worse. The lunkers that shoot out tiny bitches? Fuck those. Lurkers are an incredibly interesting and skill demanding unit- so lets make them the exact same except lame as fuck and useless. These are goliaths that are just goliaths but not as cool and also they do extra damage to mech. What if the arbiter was the nexus? But also put arbiters in the expansion. Except make them suck. I'm bummed out. | ||

Protoss changes are still seeming a bit lackluster. I like the Tempst change. I still think the Oracle is 100% useless because rebuilding workers is always more damage than just having them maynard for a few seconds. Hoping for something else...possibly a midgame unit that actually does DPS at a range. | ||

The Warhound is there as more as an anti-armored ground to ground unit, and replacement for the Thor ground to air volley. It's more like a cheaper more massable version of the Thor. I think the missle launcher idea is dumb. Sounds like another unit catered to newbie who don't know how to micro siege tank vs siege tank wars. TvT is already way more dynamic than BW TvT with the stronger bionic potential in SC2 vs BW. It's quite easily the most entertaining mirror matchup to watch and play, imo. For the love of god, experiment with the Carrier before deleting it! Add BWesque Carrier micro, problem solved! The Phoenix was completely overhauled from an A-move unit to a unit that requires intensive attention to micromanage it to it's full potential. | ||

I guess I just feel like Blizzard's approach to this has been broken from the start. All the races are not supposed to be equal. Just balanced. And there is a difference. I'd have been much happier if they'd have released a complete game, with no mention of an expansion, and then released one later. Instead we have a work in progress that I'm not sure needs to be. They've boxed themselves into having to come up with enough material to fill 3 games and keep interest and balance. That'll be tough and I'm not saying it's not doable, but I'm hesitant to put any money on it. ^_^ | ||

I thought blinding cloud had to be on top of the BIO for it to blind it I am pretty sure? I could be wrong they didn't really say but that's what I was assuming is it had to be on top of the bio for it to work. | ||

That said, if they can turn nydus into a multi-purpose building with a variety of worms to use, then that's cool. I think part of better design for Starcraft 2 has to be to have more interesting base management. i.e. instead of spending all our time coming up with unit design, we should also have interesting uses of buildings, macro, resource gathering and such. The viper and oracle interacting with mineral fields, nydus worms having additional abilities, the oracle being able to disable tech and such are interesting precisely because they create more depth to this aspect of the game. | ||
