Mission 6 (Kerrigan) - Brown doesn't seem to understand the concept of using overlords to transport troops, so he is barely a threat. Not for me. He drops me as often as orange, and I haven't been able to even take an expo because there aren't enough resources from my one base to survive the constant waves I get bombarded with. Which would still be fine if brown stayed on his side and didn't come over to help orange. I've been rolling along through the missions with little difficulty on Kerrigan mode. I beat 3 & 7 no problem, but this one has me stumped. I'm using the latest version with the Omega fix.

![]() It seems like it would work great... until 2 tanks come with an overlord and two-shots your ball of lurkers. ![]()

Seriously, is there way to donate? I'm ready and willing to pay full price of original SC+BW because you guys deserve it no less than Blizzard itself. Tbh, never saw remake/mod recreating old (old? wtf, 1998 was like just yesterday? Oh, God) game to such degree. Seriously, IT FEELS like I am playing original game, only on modern engine with modern resolution. Something most mods-remake-sequels totally lack no matter if they made by fans or by some humongous corporation. It's a magic for me and something I still can't believe is really happening. I only hope after all the great work you did you'll find some time to fix minor bugs (like resource bug in last mission of The Fall). I only wish other game communities had such talented teams. I wonder what you will move on to next :D Good luck and I wish every one of you successes IRL.

Some request: You should REALLY consider removing the missile tower from the small island in middle of the map in sixth(?) mission, where you got lurkers for the first time. It was the only thing that realy, REALY annoyed me in the original. I mean I'm having fun with the lurkers, completely skipping the spire in this one and what do you know? EVERY goddamn time I fall for this crap. The one, last turret that you HAVE to get to by air or drops. SO annoying. I mean, is it only me?

My overall suggestions are: - You guys should have used the opportunity to fix the mistake in the original game where Zeratul takes Raszagal after they slay the Overmind and Duran then says in the next mission "Zeratul bypassed our defenses and stole the Matriarch away from us". Well of course he did, we saw him take her. ![]() - In that same scene, I would have had Zeratul slash at Raszagal a second time, instead of her just dieing like in the original. - The High Templar's hallucination ability doesn't work in the hybrid bonus mission. - Mission 6 seems to be the hardest. Don't know if it's a bug or if it's because I didn't use Lurkers, but the difficulty level on Kerrigan seems disproportionate compared to the other missions. - Artanis & Fenix's portraits don't have textures sometimes. - Talking portraits. We can make it happen and I'd be happy to chip in.

Also, I've found a bug where Devourer cocoons do not take up supply. So, you can literally morph a ton of mutalisks into cocoons, then make more mutalisks and then cancel the Devourer cocoons to have a 300+ supply army.

The atmosphere in the hybrid bonus mission was amazing, especially with that black space background you guys used for the briefing. I'm also glad that you guys kept a spot to sneak a nydus canal to that remote island in the "To Slay The Beast" mission. That was my favorite thing to do back in the day - just send over my entire army, steamroll the island, and then retreat back. Awesome. How I understood Duran's comment was that Zed and the boys were recalled back to their fleet somewhere nearby, and they still had to bypass a bunch of Zerg air defenses and regroup somewhere on the surface. The portrait glitch happens during briefings with ultra shaders. Doesn't seem like anything can be done about it for now, I suppose we could look into changing the portraits. Talking portraits... ugh. I'm staying the hell away from that mess, for now. Oh man... well, you know, after reading comments along the lines of "I was planning on recreating the Starcraft campaign but there's no point since this one's already so good" we felt, or at least I felt almost like it was our duty to do the best remake that we possibly could. I don't think there's any mindblowing stuff in it that the Galaxy Editor is capable of, though I don't think there needs to be, we're just trying to do a solid, consistent remake with as few issues as possible. Speaking of the Galaxy Editor, it's amazing. It's such a shame that the game restricts - or at least tries to restrict - things being created with it to the obnoxiousness that is the new battle.net. Even so, it's a great tool and most of the groundwork has obviously been done by Blizzard well before the release of SC2, so it's not like this is Black Mesa Source or anything. ![]() Thank you for the kind words. I'm not going to say the (never serious) thought of "what if everyone paid $5 or something" has never crossed my mind, but there are so many obvious reasons why we can't accept money for this. Aside from the most obvious ones, if you look at the credits after the final mission, they last for about 5 minutes. Of course, a lot of them are relatively small contributions, but trying to split that money fairly would be impossible. I believe next we'll be moving to bigger and better things... HotS, that is. This remake isn't done, in fact it never will be, at some point we'll just get utterly sick of it for good.

After reading that, and realising that you actually could be very tired with this project, I wonder if you guys shouldn't take a break from it for a while. A two months for that matter. Why exactly two months? Because in one month HotS will come out and it will definately change editor in some significant way and especially it will add models of the old zerg units. Browder said it himself in one of the most recent interviews. So, instead of tweaking and working on the campaign bugs now, you should wait and get it done after you'll familiarise yourself with the expansion friendly editor, which I assume the second month for ![]() Besides, you guys DEFINATELY deserve some Carribbean vacation with lost of bikinis and coconut shell drinks. With goddamn umbrelas in them.

Now that I think of it, I suppose Blizzard has heard about this remake by now, but I don't know if there is anything like a Blizzard e-mail address where they can be told about community-made content. Having that project mentioned on the Blizzard website would sure be the ultimate reward ![]()

But now the things I would like to note: Mission 5 is very easy thanks to 2 very defensive AI; i only took 1 Protoss Base in the surprise attack (remembering I once gutted Protoss in the original its not much) and had no Problem with the enemy attacks Mission 6 is as annoying as the original with the difficulty of getting a second gas, but fine in comperision with the original Mission 7 the Reavers are a real nightmare but nothing unexxpected Mission 8 is imo too easy in comparision with the original (Kerrigan difficulty); The Problem I feel is that in the original the AI had 400 Supply each (200 Terran, 200 Zerg) and quite often hat more units then normally possible; in the remake the AI seems to have to few units to contest the player from taking the bases on the first island; after that a good 20 Guardians 20 Devourers were unstoppable Mission 9 is harder then the original imo, but a nice challenge Mission 10 was for me the most difficult, had big problems getting any expos running; after destroying the north-west Base of the UED I should have gone Air against the Dominion but since I didn´t, it took quite a while. But again this are minor complains for a very VERY good remake of the campaigns

In the original BW campaign, the Dominion base starts out with 18 Siege tanks, and still produces more, so pretty much any attempt at a ground attack would be slaughtered in it. Get an army of guardians, mtualisks, and devourers, and you just plain roll them because they have hardly any anti-air.
