Thanks for wasting your time champ. wow, why so mean? he didn't know what he was going to find. not every effort that ends in failure is a waste of time. he may as well post what he did find, even if it's not groundbreaking stuff. if the only point of your post is to discourage people from trying things, then you're doing worse than just wasting time :o

For those people who may or may not be owed money, it would be nice to have some point of contact where they know they could find this guy if lets say they were to pursue legal action. If the intention of posting the address was to try to incite some sort of violence then I agree that would be foolish. I guess Anon posting a google maps image of all the kiddie porn guys they got the IP addresses for was in poor taste as well

There are plenty of people here who live in the Phillipines and know where that address would be. Forgive me for suggesting something practical instead of all of us just blowing hot air on an internet forum. And Torte de Lini, none of the links I provided were "mainstream websites." There's a such thing as internet research and Google is a perfectly fine starting point. Btw I'm the guy who found Zelthcon's Youtube video where he detailed the tiehack he created for WC3, which pretty much put the nail in that guy's coffin as far as the SC2 tiehack. There were already 2 threads, both bigger than this one, and no one had found that video.

I guess Anon posting a google maps image of all the kiddie porn guys they got the IP addresses for was in poor taste as well I'm fairly sure that in a thread filled with "he should burn" (literally) posting his home details was only meant to incite fear. I may be wrong, in which case it was simply a *very* ill conceived idea. I imagine tht most of those who're having serious issues have some contact point already and those with legal implications would have no such troubles - and even if they did or it was thought they might then PM would be the far better choice. There is no reason to dangle someone's personal details in front an angry mob, the majority of which have no legitimate need to posess them - no matter that the person did. And yeah, if Anon did that, it was also wrong.

But instead of sending a guy into harms way, how about you try helping by using the PM function? (That's private messaging). It exists for a myriad of reasons, and this situation is one of them! By posting his information in the thread, you open him up to various forms of harassment needlessly. By private messaging the people involved, you might actually help someone. Also, so you know, his information was posted multiple times in this thread already, and edited out multiple times.

Must suck to wake up one morning and find a 37 page thread on TL all about how much people think you've ruined the e-sport community

This is really appreciated, but still doesn't really justify putting out his personal address for everyone to see. Maybe there are some people who already know where he lives, but there's no reason to make that number any higher if it may entail a lot more risk to anyone else who lives in that address (family, roommates, his dog, does it really fucking matter?) You could have just PM'd this to people more closely involved if you wanted to help Amanda. I dont think an angry mob is going to come knocking on his door or anything, but it really isn't fair to draw attention to his home address because its just a financial problem right now.
