Now, I'll grant that it wouldn't be obvious to anyone who wasn't aware of the debacle of the Season 1 registrations. In the future I'll be more mindful of the fact that not everyone has knowledge of the background information required to make the same logical assumptions that I found easy to make based on the information provided in the OP. They never stated what they were filming, if it was just promos or matches or interviews or anything else...And even in their post explaining when the contracts were handed in, they leave TSL and ST out of it. As an aside, I would say once you finish signing the contract, it's squared away. Because at that point, both sides have finished agreeing to a set of obligations that have to be fulfilled.

On a side note, it's funny to see a lot of "understanding" from some posters for the Korean side, their travel money issues, few sponsorships etc etc, but just about zero of that same "understanding" when it comes to the fact that NASL is a new venture with very little experience and stability, being expected to dish out these accomodations for KR players as if NASL were GOMTV. I think most of the reasonable posters have said that it's not the fault of NASL that they can't cater to the Korean's every demands under their current circumstances lol. Considering the amount of trolling and flames in this thread, digging up such posts might be a bit hard though. On August 13 2011 10:03 ChroMaTe_ wrote: To be honest it's their loss. NASL is a fantastic and fast-growing tournament and if they want to miss out, then it's no one's loss but theirs. Now it's truly the North American Star League whether we wanted it to be or not. Don't start with this BS. Please.

I wonder how many skilled players were taken out by Koreans that could have otherwise qualified for the league.

There's no silver lining to this. NASL doesn't have anything like the credibility it had without the Koreans in it. It's players fighting an inferior talent pool for a lot of money, and nothing else. Whoever wins, they won because the best players didn't turn up.

Aww, you can't say that Puma, Rain, and HuK taking top spots would be undeserved...

Who's starting with BS? Most non North American players were in form of Koreans. I'm not saying EVERYONE is North American but we lost a big chunk of the part that wasn't.

It was always the North American Star League regardless of where the players came from...It's a starleague based in North America. If you want only North American players, you might as well ban all the Eu, SEA, and SA players as well. Oh and Sen. Not to mention, the majority of the non-KR players that qualified are European.

And the BS he is referring to is this almost xenophobic idea that its the North American league, so it should only be NA players in it and everybody else be damned.

It's really unfortunate that they couldn't work out a deal. This makes me very sad. :'(

on the other hand, i remember korean players playing at like 4am or something for the regular season and having to wait 2-3hours infront of their computer cuz the schedule was wrong/delayed....also i recall SOTG episode where they said grand finals schedule was all f'd up and NASL staff was breaking havoc looking for julyzerg 2 hours before his match telling him to play right now so i guess both sides have their reasons..its the viewers that lose out ![]()

I remember someone having to wait an awful long time, but I believe it was because of another player's no-show. I also don't think you have the July story right either.

Can you relink that please? I was of the impression that Mr. Chae was commenting more from the difficulties in going to Korea for GSL in terms of cost and commitment being so high rather than an outright diss about the the testicular fortitude of the foreigners...
