If things go well they play sc2 until they are 30. If they are very lucky they get to work for another 10-15 years as a coach or commentator. Then they are in their forties with no professional experience relevant to anything other than video-gaming. Good luck trying to find a job for the remaining 20-30 years of their work-life. In my country a large share of athletes is employed by the police or the military to overcome this issue - once they stop being competitive in sports they already have a guaranteed job (as a clerk, policeman, ...) lined up for them. Without this system there could be no "professional" athletes for anything but the most high-profile sports as price money and the wages a private team could afford to pay would never be enough to overcome the 30 years following the end of a sports career.

Despite the expectation - that it seems most people have - that the information we are fed is trustworthy and accurate, it still surprises me to see how many people are willing to jump to conclusions and make broad, sweeping statements on a topic that frankly they don't know any more about than what the few posts on TL have told them. Seriously, the community can be so judgemental just because of a media source that points one way or another. Remember the hate towards SlayerSJessica, people saying she was unprofessional and the like for "overreacting" to apparently innocent twitter posts? That completely reversed once the second thread popped up from her point of view. Media controls people. Oh.. i wonder if there will ever be a day when people grow a brain. ![]()

I never said that? There were a multitude of people white knighting for poor Coach Lee in that thread. Then there were people saying oh Korea this Korea that its about respect. Then there were people who in general disliked the situation. And then there were just people in general. Not sure where you connected the dots on my comments to suddenly make it become that I said everyone who disputed EG/Puma was a Lee white knight, you said it, not me.

TSL left the conference and they can still participate in tournaments and they don't have to pay the reparations. they have to or else the sanctions will come. i mean leaving the sc2con pretty does nothing for TSL, the rest of the teams can still sanction them from GSL if they really wanted to.

I've been working full time for the last 8 years and never had a job that made overtime mandatory. Work your 8 hours, or scheduled time, and leave. There may be jobs that enforce overtime, but to say its the same with "every" job is ludicrous.

FD and Trickster didn't want to put in the effort during a tough time for the team, and FD in particular has been failing to produce any decent results as of late. I'm unclear as to whether they were contracted to TSL after the whole Puma situation, but if they were, then sure, it was a dick move to withhold their pay. But at the same time, think about this as if you were Lee, two of your top players weren't putting in the effort when your team needed them to, despite the fact that unlinke MANY Korean SC2 pros, they were earning a decent salary. You'd be pissed too, and then they tell you that they want to leave the team so they can get out of practicing as much? It would just be.... a really shit situation to be in. (NOTE: I'm not trying to bash on FD/Trickster, they're both players I like. The context is just helpful) And people need to remember that it's COACH Lee, not manager Lee. It can't be easy having to juggle everything at once. He's been a progaming coach for a while now, and he's known for caring about his players. I think he diserves some more respect for his efforts, rather than the blind hate he's getting.

You can't just "leave" when you want. If you DID you would be fired pretty quickly after a few times of doing so. EDIT: ive had about 3 jobs in hospitality, most are like this. Crappy industry to work in, very long hours but decent pay.
