This isn't sexual harassment. What happened to her was a nuisance. Something that you shrug off if you want to be famous and known.

Uh, telling an employee to have sex with you or else they're fired.

You can do a lot less than that and have it be sexual harassment. And thats almost more than harassment, thats pretty close to rape (forcing someone to have sex with you, asking is harassment). Laws about sexual harassment are vague enough that they are not funny in any way, and people need to cut the shit. My uncle is on a sex offenders list for the rest of his life and went to PRISON because he touched his few months old grandchild in the chest and his daughter is a fucking drug addict who didn't appreciate him (probably had some real beef who knows). So all you people saying "well this is obviously not against the law" should stfu until they know for a fact that any judge in the whole world would never punish someone for it. I think there is more than one person on this forum capable of saying something completely harmless to a lady that would make her uncomfortable (which is almost enough to file for sexual harassment). And I bet there are even a few people in prison who actually didn't know they were breaking a law until it was too late.

In general people need to chill out about this because I think its obvious that nothing will probably happen to anyone in this case, Jessica can file charges but that doesn't mean punishment will be distributed ^_^.

Yes I know all that, I was giving a clear example. The "lesser" versions of sexual harassment all share important similarities with the obvious example, similarities that are distinctly lacking from the example of pshopping a face onto a pornographic image and posting it on a random image board.

Photoshopping someone's head onto porn isn't sexual harassment..? What IS, then?

From Wikipedia:
Sexual harassment, is intimidation, bullying or coercion of a sexual nature, or the unwelcome or inappropriate promise of rewards in exchange for sexual favors.

Glad I could help! Ask me if you have problems with any other words, too.

Isn't that exactly what is happening? If someone photo shopped my face onto a gay porn star, I would consider that person bullying me in a sexual nature.

Uh, seriously? Even if they just posted it to some random image board? Even if they had no idea who the hell you were and just used your face from a stock photo?

Its never that simple.

There is no threat of a sexual offense though, it's just someone being a dick.

somebody mention this already

if you walk up to a girl and tell her that you want to F*** her up, then the police will definitely want to have a word with you

why should it be different if you do it from behind your keyboard ?

Because you may very well live 2000 miles away from her and pose little threat, while if you say it to her face, you're right there and can drop your pants on the spot. If there is reason to believe that someone has the means and motive to fullfil their threat, then that's very different. Additionally, getting in trouble for a threat online is fine in my opinion, but looking at that stack of papers, it sounds like she's just lumping everyone who said anything negative together and saying, "Fuck em all".

You may think that 2000 miles away might pose little threat. You are very mistaken. A netizen living in Chicago (and he's 57 years old too) decides to start a group to hate on the lead rapper/singer from Epik High. He eventually forms a hate group on a portal site with 125,000 members accusing the singer of being a fraud. It became national news, Interpol had to be called. You are kidding yourself if you underestimate internet hate in Korea.

Good god... way to take the troll bait. Not only that, she went in guns blazing to use tweets as harassment evidence. She's treating this too much like a black-or-white argument, either people are for her decision or against it.

Or does she not know what trolls are? ._.

No, I think my statement is still perfectly fine, notice how I said if there is reason to believe there is motive to fullfil a threat, then taking action and getting them in trouble is fine? But yes, if someone posts they dick online and says they want to fuck Angelina Jolie, I don't think that every one of those guys is a threat to her. So yes, the person may live 2000+ miles away from you and pose little threat, it's very different from going up to someone and saying, "I'm going to fuck you".

Good god... way to take the troll bait. Not only that, she went in guns blazing to use tweets as harassment evidence. She's treating this too much like a black-or-white argument, either people are for her decision or against it.

Or does she not know what trolls are? ._.

Trolls need to be punish, ignoring is not enough.

Yikes. The number of people who think it should be legal to repeatedly and publicly sexually harass someone is more than a little frightening. This kind of garbage is pretty much the entire reason e-sports has the reputation it has, and the reaction of about half the people in this thread (maybe more) is only making it worse.

This isn't sexual harassment. What happened to her was a nuisance. Something that you shrug off if you want to be famous and known.

I mean, seriously. I knew the inevitable "this is hurting ESPORTS" was coming, but this is too much.

And I would tell people to admire my perfectly toned body and massive manhood.
I hate when people want to prosecute others for "offending" them, that's completely subjective. Unless people were actually telling others to rape or kill her or something, this is a MASSIVE overreaction.

somebody mention this already

if you walk up to a girl and tell her that you want to F*** her up, then the police will definitely want to have a word with you

why should it be different if you do it from behind your keyboard ?

Because you may very well live 2000 miles away from her and pose little threat, while if you say it to her face, you're right there and can drop your pants on the spot. If there is reason to believe that someone has the means and motive to fullfil their threat, then that's very different. Additionally, getting in trouble for a threat online is fine in my opinion, but looking at that stack of papers, it sounds like she's just lumping everyone who said anything negative together and saying, "Fuck em all".

ok, if some guy 2000 miles away phone a girl and tell her he want to F*** her up then you bet police will trace the phone call and find the perv

just because its in the internet doesnt make it ok

Not sure how it is in Singapore but I am pretty sure most people would hang up the phone and start laughing. Why are people so afraid of everything in society today? Better yet, if you got a call from 2000 miles away.. my god lighten up people. Its the internet.. if you can't handle criticism, negative talk, or people hating on you, then don't go in the lime-light. Once you are in the lime-light you accept that you are the center of attention and people will say negative things towards you. Look at celebrities for example.. they accept the fact and understand its part of the industry. Tabloids, etc.
