I decided to go my typical fantasy route and go for the team first. IM and SlayerS are really good, and they might win it all - however, MVP put up a ridiculous showing last GSTL and players like DRG haven't stopped in their excellent play. FD just haven't impressed me, and he's basically been off the radar since GSL1. F.U also doesn't play til like week 6...so hopefully that will give me time to swap out Thorzain. Lyn hasn't impressed me, so he'll probably stay on here for a while.
DRG is a monster, and I'm surprised he isn't 9 pts. Alicia will get a lot of playtime as SlayerS's best protoss, Line is one of ZeNEX's best players and was cheap, QXC is FXO's ace, so even if FXO doesn't do particularly well, I'll get points for him being sent out :p sC is a monster at TvZ, and is surely fOu's ace. I took a risk with dream, but he supposedly did very well at Code A qualifiers. Younghwa is a decent player and gets good amount of playtime- also I don't have an IM players on my team :p
4 GuMiho- fOu that is 5-2 GSL. I am banking a lot of points on him. 8 MarineKing (captain)- marineking is damn good, and I'm hoping his teammates underperform so he can get some streaks. However, with polt and maka, I don't know if he will get those game streaks, but I expect him to appear and get wins for me. Plus I cannot trade a captain, and so if polt suddenly doesn't do as well, I anticipate marineking always staying solid. 4 Min- a solid zerg, needed a 4 pointer. Originally had maka here but I had to have a zerg on my main team :/. (I think with maka/polt/marineking prime has a solid team). 4 NaDa- definitely solid, and may have a chance to get streaks. Could have done supernova or something, but nada should definitely appear and should definitely do well. 6 Ryung- definitely solid, and definiely has the chanced to get streaks. MMA is probably ace player, but Slayers is a solid enough team that MMA probably won't have a chance to rack up streaks. If ryung appears first in the lineup ever and opens up with a 2 or 3 game streak, I'm golden. I imagine slayers will win a lot, so having two slayers is at least +1 points for the win. 1 SocceR- seems solid, and for F.U. is capable of getting streaks. He will appear at least, and I needed a low point value (he is 1 point). With F.U., moon will probably be ace, so if F.U. surprises me and wins soccer should appear (ie. in a scenario where lyn/soccer get 1 or 2 wins then thorzain or naniwa actually win, I am hoping soccer is the one to get the streaks) 2 TheBest- well, if I have fOu as my team, a low level 2 pointer on that team can give me +1 points if they win. 3 Twilight- will appear for FXO, and will be only one capable of getting streaks (maybe sheth too). No offense, but I am banking on white people losing. Or at least they will not be good enough to get streaks which really boost fantasy points. 4 For Our Utopia- they have a solid group with gumiho/leenock/sc, and I'm hoping the best can get some wins in there. I need gumiho to pull through with some surprising streaks to get fOu 4-1 or 4-2 wins, as I don't anticipate leenock and sc appearing first in the lineups.
5 Moon: F.U. will probably lose most of their matches, and so I hope Moon will lose too. By having anti team of all 1 team, it either helps with the +1 team wins or will kill me. I hope to be able to trade some of them for the ogs players that aren't appearing in the lineups (probably moon tbh. Right now TOP and Zenio are both 5 points, maybe 4. If either of them aren't showing up in ogs I can trade and hope to not risk anti team winning (team may win, but if they don't even show up it is safer)
In addition, as someone pointed out, F.U. don't play for a while. 4 NaNiwa- white people will lose. I ahve total faith in that. 4 ThorZaIN- white people will lose. I have total faith in that.
Team captain was the easiest decision of my life. God Zerg, Master of the Universe, Smartest Man Alive, ect NESTEA. As i type this I am at the base of my Nestea statue/shrine. Next, i loves me some MMA and he rocks the team league. Guinea Pig plays random and so do I: another fanboism pick, but its hard to snipe out a random player in team league. Thorzain was a steal at 4 points.
I expect happy, kuma, monster, and tiffany to have a coming out party this season. I'm a SlayerS fanboi so i had to pick them. I'm the number 2 slayers fanboi on the east coast. As for my anti-team i think polt is a little overrated. (he did just wreck mma though) hongun and team prime dont do well in team league. Poor jinro is slumping hard and probably will be riding pine.
Main Team 2 BoxeR (captain) I love BoxeR, that's all 2 CoCa I had to pick a zerg so...... 1 Jinro Mandatory for me to pick atleast one Liquid, and since he's Terran 2 MOoNan He's such a nice guy when I met him, Couldn't possibly leave him out 9 MVP Because he's Awesome, and he's Terran 4 NaDa Because he's Nada 8 Polt Another Strong Terran, =D 1 SLoG Real Life Friend, A true Baller 6 SlayerS Favorite Team, Bar none.
Anti Team 5 GuineaPig I hate Randoms 3 Kyrix I hate banelings 5 Lyn A filler slot
Main Team 9 Bomber (captain) is just sick, his tvt and tvp are awsome to watch, just his tvz could be better 1 Hero has a 66% winrate on ladder and knocking out DRG to get into code A and that for just 1 point 1 J might be unknown to some people but knocked out TOP in another tournament with some really impressive play. 9 MC won 2 GSL, do i really need to say more? 4 NaDa is a well rounded player with no weak matchup 2 Taeja all killed a team in the last GSTL if im right and won clash of the houses 2 Yoda upcoming player in team IM and is in code A 3 Younghwa did great in the other GSTL so i hope he will do the same in this one 5 Old GenerationS still has most code S players in the gsl and im sure they will do well this time
Talking about my Antiteam first, it was an easy pick for me. I'm going for one 5-pointer and two 4-pointers. GuineaPig has really bad TLPD-Stats for a 5-pointer, so the pick was clear for me. Fruitdealer was picked for his decreasing performances in individual and especially team leagues. Line was one of the big surprises in the super tournament but i think he won't make a difference in a team like ZenEx, which is probably finishing at one of the last two spots in my opinion.
In my Mainteam i like to have one starplayer, a solid mid-tier and two or three (in this case it came down to two) cheap players. So i chose Bomber for Captain, because he is actually one of the top players in Korea ELO-wise and will definitely be worth his money. The mid-tier players are all very promising, have shown great games in gsl, gstl and international tournaments so far and are supposed to play in every match of their teams. My last two picks are Huk, who i wouldn't have supposed to be that cheap. I think he will get some games for ogs after his stunning performance at Dreamhack. Golden is only a filler, who maybe scores some points because he is from Slayers and played ok in the last gstls.
2 Ace Has been performing well in previous GSTL and other tourneys outside of korea.....is underperforming atm. 3 Anypro A solid protoss player that for his value (3) is a bargain. Hes one of the aces of his team and will probably play many games. 4 Byun Good terran vs zergs and protoss....though his tvt is lacking he can be used alot to snipe diffrent players...also used alot by his team. 8 DongRaeGu (captain) My favorite player in SC2 5 GuineaPig My second favorite player in SC2 . The best random player in the world, and its very good to be random in teamleague cuz you cant predict the matchup 4 Maka Has been performing well the last couple of weeks winning against top players. Is one of primes best players and will probably play alot of games for his team. 3 Sheth Sheth is FXOs best player and will play many games....I rank Sheth higher then idra cuz of his solid zvz and zvp. 3 SuperNoVa Seems he always goes first in oGs when it comes to teamplays....a very good terran that has alot of potential. 4 MVP Team MVP has alot of "dark horses", and they seem to have good chemistry.
4 Curious Never actually heard of him...which is probably the main reason I picked him 4 GuMiho Same as the above 5 Lyn FoxLyn is a legend in war3...but in SC2 hes had a tuff time....Im not that confident in this pick :D
So I think FruitDealer is the most common Anti-team pick so far. I am seeing him in a surprising number of anti-teams (Including my own). I wonder how long the poor guy can last in Code S, but every time I say that he comes back and beast modes during the up/downs. Not sure what to make of that guy.
Just a selection of my favorite players who i'd like to cheer for during this season, Thorzain will probably be removed before he actually gets a chance to play.
My first fantasy team league so i'm looking for some advice, especially for trading players.
Is it worth it to look at play schedules, and which team plays what week , and trade accordingly so you get as many lineup appearances points as possible . Or is just going for appearances points a bad idea, due to the trading tax?
I actually put a lot more thought into this than I expected. I originally selected MKP as my captain because I figured he was the only worthwhile player on the Prime team, but then I found out I needed a Zerg and the only ones I trusted to score consistently were DRG and Losira. Of the two, I think IM is the stronger team and will guarantee me more points, plus Losira is probably the 3rd best player on IM, meaning he is more likely to be sent out early as opposed to DRG, the ace. I also find DRG's play style to be somewhat fragile in that it seems like it's a class cannon that's cleverly disguised. I don't know how durable he actually is. I know Losira will make stuff and attack.
Happy and Hero seemed to be value picks for me, both playing on pretty good teams. My overall mindset was to avoid picking Zergs, as the general trend seems to be sending out the more durable Terrans and then Protosses to snipe those. At that, Alicia is arguably the best T sniper. Younghwa seems like the type of player to be sent out first, as is Taeja. Keen is just a pretty good value at three points for being such a good player. Lastly, I expect sC to carry FOU. I think he will have plenty of opportunity to clean up for his largely inferior team.
SlayerS seems to be a safe pick for a team, considering they have won two straight and from everything I have read, their regiment is the most similar to BW pro-houses.
As for the anti-team, I just picked Zergs that are unlikely to show up and score any large sum of points.
The idea behind my pics was basically to find a good value per point players.I think Huk,Ace,July,Keen and SuperNoVa are steals for the amount of points they have.I picked Younghwa because hes a PvP sniper( even better than Inca imo).Losira is,I feel the, superior Zerg to DRG still and he gets more playing time than Nestea who only comes out in a dire situation.I picked Sheth as well because i feel like hes the best player on FXO and i watched him at MLG and in a few showmatches against White-ra and i liked what i saw,i just hope he does other stuff aside from ling-muta in the GSTL because hes gonna get away with it at first but the teams are going to send in protosses to 6 gate him from than on.
For my Anti team i picked Maka because i think he has a overinflated point value, same as Fruitdealer who i can't picture wining anything anymore.I picked Zenio as well because oGs is stacked with good Ts and Ps so i don't see Zenio making a huge impact and predict they will send him in eventually to baneling bust a terran or something.
Oh and one more thing,I will be trading for a particular set of players after the second week so that also a part of my tactic

With F.UN (F united) - Soccer, Thorzain and Nani. Like I said before in another thread, it'd probably be a bad idea to place them on anyone's anti-team.
