Also, losses on the ladder make me 10x more focused in the next game. It's weird, but I get pretty angry at myself in sc2 (which never happened in bw) which helps me so much in the following game.

In a long match, I'll sweat in the endgame. Sometimes if I work myself up enough waiting for a match, I'll get short of breath. I love the game, I love 1v1 but I've pretty much stopped laddering. I really enjoy casual 1v1 with friends with a lot of chatting and obsing, do that as much as I can :D

I just can't shake this losing streak. Like yesterday I played decent but it seems like every other day its just a day of me losing every game. That's when I get nervous when I know I'm a losing steak. If I lose my first game it feels like its going to be one those days where I do nothing but lose and I start making mistakes all the time. I kind of feel that way too about my first games of the day, sometimes I can just feel that I wont be playing my best. When I bought SC2 on the release date I sat down and laddered right away without any experience in sc2. After 2 loses as terran I switched to zerg and immediately started to win (Zerg BW player). After a few days of laddering my win ratio was great. I started playing team games after that, and never 1vs1 laddered since. After achieving my goal that was the brood lord portrait, I came back to 1vs1s, but this time customs. I am still in this custom game trap frame of mind, and am afraid to press start. Mainly its because I will be facing players as good as me. If I feel I'm not playing my best it makes it even harder to want to ladder. I will custom to warm up. I fall into keep customing and soon I become tired and there's no way I'am pressing start.

There aren't that many things in my daily routine that gets adrenaline pumping through my bloodstream. It's only when I've been busy and haven't laddered for a while that I feel apprehensive, 'cause I know my macro won't be up to scratch. This is a good point. Even though ladder can, to borrow from Day9, pump a bunch of chemicals into your system, I really embrace it as a good thing. I can not think of any game that gets me as pumped up. I think we get nervous thanks to the competitive nature of this game, but the thrill of winning keeps us coming back no matter what.
