Well i havent played for a long time, so i am nervous... but playing coop games and some customs, gets me pumped, but im still nervous... One day ill get immune to it, but damn a lose is tough and sucks, especially looking back at the replay and seeing how dumb of a move i made or i shouldnt waited longer to attack...

After taking a break for schoolwork following the ladder reset, I finally got back into ladder tonight. First game was an absolute trainwreck of a TvT (from both sides actually) but once I got that out of my system I was back on form. In the big scheme of things, a win or loss on the ladder just isn't going to make that big a difference.

That said it's very hard for me to stop on a loss. Even If I lose 5+ in a row, one win to end things and I'll be satisfied.

Diamond Toss..
I get really nervous if i haven't played for a few days and just getting back to laddering.
And if losing games against Platium guys twice or something i get really mad and nervous at the same time, then it's really hard to hit the search button again, but after like 5 games im getting in a flow and just keep going w/o thinking so much about it

I'm surprised at the poll results. I didn't realize people were this nervous about the ladder system. It sucked getting demoted from D+ to D when I use to play Brood War on Iccup, but on SC2 ladder system I kind of been more casual with the game. I just laugh if I get demoted from my rank. I mean yeah I love to win my ladder games, but I actually have more fun when I lose because I realize what my biggest mistakes are.

*EDIT*

Now that I think about it... I'm 100% relaxed and calm when I play 1v1 ladder games. There's nothing on the line if I lose. Oh noes I lose maybe 20 points... I can easily get that back the next game.

I DO get nervous in tournaments though. When I use to play in Street Fighter tournaments I would get REALLY NERVOUS. I mean I'd fuck up my combos, I'd act like I don't know what I'm doing and stuff. I practiced for so long and then I get all nervous because I don't want to get eliminated from the tournament. So I guess I get nervous from gaming, but not when it's not a tournament or it's not a money match.

The nerves are the reason why I play 3v3 and 4v4 RT, really chill games where everything is possible. When I reached diamond 1v1, I stopped playing that.. RT games I find are much more entertaining and less frustrating. Besides that, I consider myself just as competitive as every other player below grand masters, just playing for fun.

So blizz was right about removing loss count below master, ppl are afraid playing ladder. For sure this change made some ppl go back to laddering. By the way iam never nervous while laddering, but generally I am calm person when it comes to for example exams and stuff. Ofc sometimes iam angry while playing cuz I know I should have won that game. AAAAAAAAAAAARGHHH besides that nope

no, i really dont think removing the losses was good concerning laddering. i really dont see the point removing it, it doesnt change the fact that many are afraid of losing and nervous before laddering.
personally, i never was ashamed of my losses/losscount, its just right before clicking the "search game" button, nothing more...
i really wish my losses back...^^

i always forget how my good my opponents are on ladder as i do it so inconsistently

i usually expect them to play at custom higher leveled play, as it's what i'm accustomed to.

so first game is scary as shit, but it's fine after that

In the beginning it did but now I realise I'm so far from being a decent player that it doesn't matter - I just need experience. It's taking all the pressure away, and I even play sometimes to music. The benefit is that it's much more fun! Losing can hurt, but mostly because I play badly; there have been losses that made me feel good.

I always get a little nervous/anxious but a solid win on the ladder is great. It's always much more satisfying than team wins or customs for me. Its a random opponent and you have no idea what they'll do (for the most part) and its just one on one. You're accountable for what you do/how you react. To me, its the biggest test of someones skill/strategic thinking. For me, the reason i don't ladder as much as I could is because i like to ladder when im warmed up and feeling good. I don't want to lose because I made careless mistakes or something.

I previously also only laddered when I felt I am up to the challenge. Now I ladder if I just like to play a 1v1. If I make stupid mistakes, I just make them. Then I lost a game, so what. My ladder standing is too low anyway to impress anyone.
You don't choose to play zerg. The zerg choose you.
