I try a lot of weird builds and i almost never play at 100% that way i can play longer and not feel stressed about laddering, especially as there's absolutely nothing at stakes except if you are in like top10 of Grand Master League, and I'm only in Master.

Never needed so much anger management in my life as when playing sc2 I've had this problem as well, I am wary about laddering in the morning for fear it will ruin my whole day. I'm honestly wondering whether or not I'm even going to bother laddering again. I'm REALLY enjoying just being a fan and fiddling with some custom stuff or single player. Considering I've been hardcore competitive into some other games in the past this kind of surprises me about myself, but I literally enjoy the game more when I'm NOT playing it.

If you keep playing, you will go up again. As for me personally, I get pretty nervous at the thought of laddering. I had a paralyzing fear of failure unfortunately, which effects me in pretty much all facets of my life. In games like Call of Duty, Battlefield, Team Fortress and such, that doesn't really effect me, since there is really no penalty for dying. However, in games like SC2, losing has a pretty big impact, and can really have negative consequences. Yesterday I needed 8 games to get mere six points to get back my old division placement. If I would have fail at that I just would play more games today. I think I will play today anyway even if I risk my rank. Because in the long term it will help me. You said that you practice with friends. I sometimes do that, too, mostly to find out some timings. (So I can send the first overlord on Scrap to the terran's ramp without having to worry that he shot it with a marine because he will not have a marine at that time but I get valuable scouting info.) But I don't overdue it. Most of my practice is ladder. I consider the entire ladder just a practice ground. I also watch pro replays and Vods, but mostly for my entertaining. Sometimes I try to analyze a build to "steal" it, but I figure that it is more important to practice a few builds than to know many builds in theory.

Last Saturday i played with a huge hangover... ZvsRandom. I go for 10 Pool before Overlord (with dual extractor-trick) because i don't want to die to some stupid cheese. He goes for some seriously late pool. Well: Shattered Temple Closepositions --> 8 Lings arrive (did drone after these), they kill everything but 3-4 Drones.. Next Wave with finished Speed kills him. That game was as easy as it gets... And i had to go back to bed after because i was shaking... Well, i blame the hangover mainly but seriously, this game stresses me out so much ^^.

If I lose the game because a drop slipped my attention or I was too slow defending, so what. That can happen. I don't play a tournament here where is money on the line. gg, next game. I am at least getting some stamina playing.I never get Nervous when I ladder, but I will only ladder when I am in the best shape. If I had a long day at work, I never wanna ladder because I will play slow and bad. So alot of nights I resort to Custom games even when I wanna ladder lol.

Exactly freaking this x2. It seem the more I play the less I enjoy it. Seems I'm destined to be more of a fan than a player. Oh well, GSL should be good tonight ![]()

I get nervous when its searching but after its found, I'm all cool and just play fine. o.O. I do fine or even better during tournament games for some reason. It's just so hard to press the FIND MATCH. lol I can go on losing streaks and still be perfectly fine without rage (Maybe a little disappointment but i usually don't give a damn lol) Masters league btw lol.
