![]() I think the reason sc laddering is so stressful for so many people is because it's public knowledge how good/bad you are, and so you get artificial self-inflicted pressure (this is the reason Blizzard took out the w/l ratio for under master league; my profile shows 70 wins but not the many many losses ![]() imo most nerves come from knowing you'll be judged if you lose and demote/sink to the bottom of the ladder by friends/sc community.

Possible things to mention would be why you don't mind losing (assuming you don't), your outlook on points, and how much you play per day. Started playing SC ~10 years ago, don't care anymore about ladder since I understood that it won't give/take anything to/from me. Being #34 Diamond, #4 Master, #76 Grand Master is quite the same, there's no impact on your life. What are you fearing in the end? Who is checking Alvas ranking except ... Alvas? ![]() Why you don't mind losing? I've left tons and tons (and tons) of games right at start, because it was not the match up/map I was looking for, in the meantime I easily made my way to the Master division. So why should I "worry" when I keep climbing the ranks while not caring about the ladder? Your outlook on points? Secondary. Maps, match ups, race you play (imbalances), players caring or not, time (jet lag), etc ... add an important part of randomness to your ranking. Ofc I'm not saying ranking is random, but it's more some kind of a long term feeling on your average level; nothing accurate in the end. How much you play per day? As usual it depends. Sometimes 6-8 hours a day, sometimes 6-8 games a month. But yea, I definetly think that the more you play, the less you're freaking out. I must have played something like 10000 games at least (jesus xD), including SC/SC2 ladders, clanwars, training games, etc ... so it helps I suppose! To conclude, I really do think that people fearing about the ladder are mostly teenagers (no offense), looking for some kind of social acknowledgement, and I can tell you they're heading the wrong way.

I was the calmest coolest player when I started SC, but the more games I play the angrier I get. No other video game has made me rage like this. Exactly freaking this Ive raged my ass into masters league, and now im trying to rage it into grandmaster. WC3? --> no rage at all sc2? .. I sometimes must stop myself from bashing down my desk, after losing.. Never needed so much anger management in my life as when playing sc2

Losing in 1v1 is all my fault. Even though I sometimes take it out on my enemies, blaming them for cheesing or nooby tactics, deep down I know it's all my fault and it definitely makes me nervous.

I must have played something or, the less you freak out the more you play? but I agree, the only way to solve it is by playing, like any fear you just have to hit it in the head
