I didn't vote because none of these options really apply to me. I would say I get nervous, but it's only in the games that I start getting nervous. Usually I try doing some wrists snaps or shakes to kinda get the nerves out.

Where's the "hitting the find next game button is as addictive as doing a line" option?

After years of waiting 30+ minutes to play a half-decent DotA game and taking at least 10-15 minutes to play a game on iCCup, auto match making is so sexy.

I look forward to laddering every day. I feel like every game I play, I improve and learn. If I lose, I'm one of those people who will keep laddering till I win. I'm a lot like my dad and grandad in this way too; one time, grandad was making a table or something and it wasn't coming together well so he stayed up literally all night getting it to look good. Just kind of a brute stubbroness in my blood I guess.

I used to be, but then I just did it a lot. Your losses are all going to be wiped next season anyway. I decided I just wanted to work on being a better player, and as I improve, my ELO and win/loss ratio will hopefully catch up. Think of SanZenith, who was terrible in GSL Season 1 (I THINK it was 1) but is now one of the top Protoss players in the world.

That said, I do fall apart in a big losing streak and start playing badly, even as I keep going hoping for a "solid win". It actually makes it easy to see how pros can stress out after losing the first few games in a BoX.

Slightly unrelated: I also get frustrated when I feel like messing around in a particular match-up, and I'll just get other matchups all day.

The first game is hard, and games after a winning streak are hard.

After losses I instantly hit the button for the next match (unless I'm on a huge losing streak).

"Not really, but after a losing streak it can be tough to go back"

This option was the most fitting for me. I usually 1v1 ladder no problem. Recently though, I had this horrible I think it was 11 game loosing streak and I just raged. Slammed my fist on the keyboard, broke a couple keys, then said fukuuuuuu dolphin!

After that I went on a week long strike and played only team games, trying to hit masters in RT 3v3 and 4v4. This weekend I currently got the urge to play 1v1 and have been having a blast.

So I generally don't have a hard time playing, but when you get those massive loosing streaks I feel like I just have to take a break from 1v1s for a bit.

I dont ladder because I don't like to think that I can't beat people in customs, so whats the point of even trying ladder... I'll just get mad cause I can't just leave if I make a gay mistake like worker split lol..

The key to laddering is just to try to mellow out and not take it very seriously. If you always manner and with "glhf" and "gg" I find that it's a lot easier to relax and have fun with it. I admit I still bm protoss players pvz from time to time though lol.

That's a really odd way to look at it though. Laddering usually means you're placed against people you are likely to beat (aka same skill level, sometimes higher/lower). Custom games are a coin flip, sometimes you get bronze players, or sometimes you get masters, you can't beat yourself up over that!

I personally find it nerve wracking to ladder, but once I get into the 'zone' i guess, it's not too bad. I'm not sure if it's just me, but I'd say I'm a low/mid diamond player, and while being in diamond is sort of an achieving factor, every loss I get makes me feel like I don't belong, almost as if I should be in platinum instead or something because during S1, I went 10-3 in platinum. I don't know, that's just my mindset, every loss makes me feel like I'm not up to par with my league, but every win feels fantastic, especially if the opponent was favored.

so what, you'd rather play horrible players who prefer customs over ladder ...

customs are fine if they're organized, random customs are just people dicking around or other kids who are too scared to ladder/be competitive.

I have this weird love/hate relationship with laddering. I just do not have the time/motivation to really force myself to get better, but I also know that I am better than a lot of the people in my rockin' Bronze league. I have played plat/diamond level players and given them a run for their money before in custom games and with my friends, but for some reason I just get so frustrated when I lose to 6-pool and other cheese like that, so I just don't like laddering much.

Whenever the games go longer than like 10 minutes, I usually win, but it is that early game that I am always fearing so much. =)

I usually get nervous playing the first game. I just try to make small talk with my opponent to calm myself down; they usually think I'm cheesing though. :|

I love laddering, but I do get nervous all the time about cheese, but I know its part of the game, so that's what I'm dealing with.

I hate when I go on 10-30 game winning streaks because I can't make myself ladder for a week or more due to fear of losing streaks. T.T I am also one of those people who have trouble doing the first game on ladder but after that I'll generally play for many hours until I get too mentally stressed to continue.

Clicking the button doesn't get my heart pumping at all, but in game moments do. Like when i manage to spot his 2thor1raven push with a well placed observer. Then it's crap crap crap, i hope i'm able to remember to keep chrono boosting my coll, i hope it pops in time, staying on top of warp cycles, not getting supply blocked, sneak in a probe, OH SHOOT WAIT! I made so many zealots that i should be at the bottom of my ramp instead of the top, Cmon colossus i need you now!! zealots in front, spread my units, guardian shield, focus fire thors, crap a pdd, he's going for my colossus, pull it back, 2nd col needs more chrono boost! It pops just in time that it's not really needed. Phew.

So yeah, moments like that. Pushing the button though, not at all.

I get insanely stressed playing 1v1s.. team games I relax a lot but in 1v1 games, no matter how much I tell myself 'it doesn't matter' I just get really stressed and tense.

Its not that it makes me nervous I mostly just get frustrated after a while. Especially when I lose not because I lost but because I always feel like I did something stupid...
