+ Show Spoiler +NASL, please stop asking players to make important choices like you did for the Darkforce vs. Ensnare series. I thought you would have learned from all the negative feedback you have received after July's WO vs White-Ra. As tournament organizers, you should be the one to make that type of decisions and take responsibilities rather than putting the players on a difficult spot.

Tell your sound artist guy to come up with better music for the gg at the end of each game. Right now they dont go well at all and are all over the place.

When Mr. Bitter is on camera, he needs to look at the camera (like 80% of the time) or at his co-host. He's been looking somewhere beyond the camera way too much.
Really like having him on NASL though.
|
Basicly what Sein said... Please NASL don't ever put a player in that kind of spot.
|
Please guys learn from IdrA and just state hard facts about how people are playing bad; Yeah Gretorp/MrBitter mentioned that Moman shouldve dropped and that cruncher was abit passive... but come one, they should just go "Well this is just plain pathetic play from zerg, banking 6k resources without any harass/drops/infestors or even godamned spine crawlers". I mean come on, he didn't even micro anything at the final fight, letting both his hydras AND broodlords get stormed and then he died because he had 5k resources left and no fucking defense.
Damnit I'm swearing and angry thanks to the transitionmusic and now the pathetic showmanship from cruncher/moman in game 2 is just making me pissed...

There's a lot of audio stuff they need to work on. All the mistakes they make I learned how to fix in first year Sound Engineering.
Their overall volume is very high but when a game ends they play a much louder stock music which always comes out of nowhere. They sound like generic stock music so it doesn't help. If they want to fix it they should use compressors. I assume the audio guys uses compressors for what they record, God I hope he'd be doing that, then they just dump the music from somewhere else on top. You could hear inControl breathing a bunch of times. All they need is a gate to limit low db sound. These are easy fixes which haven't been addressed after several episodes.
The website and logo look very dated and any outsider would not take it seriously. From a design perspective they are years behind, I hope they didn't pay much for it because in the design world if I showed that to a client I wouldn't be getting any more work.
Also rotating casters isn't a good idea. Casters should be casting every game to build a familiar feel for viewers. If they cast all the games they'll watch them and can reference them later on the season. And in every sports league there are dedicated casters. Hearing the same voice do Hockey for all these years is a great thing. If people are busy doing other things, then NASL isn't their priority so why are they casting.

Yeah what this guy said. Need to level up their sound guy(s). And yes, besides the obvious who should cast/caster shortfall in SC2: the casters for NA should stay through the entire season and only have maybe a special caster with an anchor caster for the elimination/late rounds. In short, you can make SC2 a show to watch for casters just as much for the players.

I'm sure this has been brought up before, but letting the VODs be viewable in a non-1080 video format. I can never just click and watch a vid; I have to start it and think, "ok, what am I going to do to kill 10 minutes so the VOD buffers enough to cause no lag during playback." I average about 300kbps download.
Offering the VODs on 720 or 480 would be great and would meet my needs completely. I don't know how much work that is for the team to do but I imagine it's considerable.
I'm sorry to complain -- It's just that I'm excited to watch the games but usually don't because of the lag issue. I hope this is resolved soon.

NASL really needs to get vods out quicker. One of the main ways that I watch GSL is through vods and they get that shit out super fast. I feel that the vods for NASL take so long that I either get the information spoiled for me while watching other things or the matches are just so old that I don't really even care about them anymore and just look up the results. It seems like players play multiple times before the vods from their old matches are put up. I dont mind paying extra to watch vods instead of the original broadcast but it would be nice if I could watch them the day after like GSL instead of weeks after.

"Reaving havoc" does not exist, nor does "Wrecking havoc".
It's "wreaking havoc." As in "Gretorp is really wreaking havoc on traditional English this evening".
Thanks dudes.

non 1080p VODs, this is pretty basic stuff

Wholeheartedly agree with the casters needing to be more critical. It comes across as honest and I begin to trust the casters and really lean on their every word. It's hard to know when something is truly spectacular when Gretorp (who is better about it now) would get excited for everything, no matter how small.
The between game transitions need some work, but I'm sure that will be fixed in time.
I would also love to see MrBitter and Incontrol get a go in the booth together.

While I don't know if it's mentioned here, I think trying/paying for a tunneling service for the Korean / European players may help reduce some of the lag they have. Some would assume that you have already tried this, but I think it's worth asking. If this did help a lot, it could reduce the downside for koreans/europeans playing in the tournament. I believe everyone would agree that making the game fairer and improving the quality of the play is almost certainly a win-win.
Plus, you could share 1 account on it for Korean players since you wouldn't be doing more than 1 game at a time.

Gretorp taking some literature courses.
NASL has come to the point where I will always have it muted, because Gretorp's casting is just so wanky, he almost never think before speaks, and always stumbles mid-sentence. maybe, when he is saying something, keep it on point?

Please fix the VODs!!!! It's been what 7 weeks now with no improvement.
No joke I set it up to watch a game from yesterday as I missed them all (Moon vs TLO) and went and played a couple of ladder games. 30 mins later I've come back and it's buffered 5 mins worth! That's not even funny any more. This is on a c 10mbit connection in the UK so I should have an effective dl rate of about 8mbit/1MB per sec.

Waht the hell happened in today's cast with the missing game? How is it not possible to get some prior word to your fans that the game is delayed or not played. With being a prerecoreded broadcast shouldn't you be able to edit something in to let us know whats going on properly?

was about to post this If something crazy like this was going to happen you could pm the guy who's doing the thread and tell him to update people on whats going on. not that hard and you don't look like a joke.

+ Show Spoiler +Apparently Haypro was sick and couldn't play, so Strelok got a walkover -- this is what the Justin.tv Naslseasonone broadcaster guy said in the Jtv chat. But the casters were talking like the games had been played, and there was no official word outside of the Jtv chat, which not everyone is watching. So we just had to sit there for a while and not know what the hell was going on or if the games would be shown or what. There's no reason why you couldn't have informed people about what had happened, and the only thing I can think of is that by not telling people that the games wouldn't be played, you got to hang on to more viewers, and for a little longer.
I just started watching NASL more the past week or so because it seemed like things had gotten better, but stuff like this really turns me off.
Edit: Xeris just posted in the LR thread explaining what happened. Obviously that's a little late, but he apologized and explained what was going on, so thanks for that.
