Idea:
I've seen NASL players stream during NASL shows and some players have more than 5000 viewers. Isn't that a competition that could be avoided if the players signed a contract not to stream during NASL shows? I feel like it's morally wrong... Is it better that the players get more money from streams or that NASL get more viewers? I choose the latter because it's better for the community although there is a possibility that more streams increases the overall number of viewers.

It's the first one in hopefully a series of NASL, so it's bound to have teething problems. I think the casters have gotten better - it was a bit awkward at first but you guys seemed to have gronw more comfortable around each other and the jokes are flowing a bit easier.

That said, I really think Husky would be a good bet for a caster, and I really, really don't agree with people commentating on a tournament they are in. Can you think of tournaments in sports where the competitiors are commentating on other people in their competition? You should either be playing or commentating, not both. That means you, iNcontrol, and Idra, really shouldn't be casting on games of rival players - Idra especially. I'm all for hype and competition, and a bit of rivalry, but when I hear Idra the whole stream basically just tearing into someone's playstyle and their character it completely turns me off the game. Also not a fan of his commentating style - it seems forced and while he obviously knows a lot about the game he struggles to say anything interesting about it. Compare him to Husky and day9 - who would you rather listen to? I don't feel that is an unfair comparison either - if you want the competition to be the best it can be you should want the best commentators, not the players telling you what they think might be going on. The commentators are there to inform and to entertain, in equal measure.
You live the life you choose.

Gretorp either has to improve dramatically or be replaced. I feel like if you were to read a transcript of his analysis, you would think that someone randomly jumbled up all the words and it was some sort of code. Dreamhack (TLO and that funny british fellow), GSL (Tastosis!), even IGN (painuser and catspajamas) all have commentators that are engaging but can't watch 5 minutes of NASL without putting it on mute. Incontrol and the audience deserve better!

just want to make clear, that only because some guys say they dont like gretorp over and over again,
does not mean that many people think like this.

I want to see iNcontrol and Gretorp both dress up in a pink bunny suit.

I will then be happy.

And just because one person claims to know what the majority of people think, that should not discredit the opinions of many comments from different posters about the quality of a specific caster.

I have no idea why everyone always hates on Gretorp, I mean sure, he makes ALOT of sexual jokes, but hey, its funny and his insight is top notch for the most part. Incontrol + Gretorp is a pretty good casting crew in my humble opinion.

its just like that this people push each other and new guys just hop on. You know this kind of thing you see on "internet-forums" .

Guys who think "i dont like gretorp at all" post this all the time.
But people who think "hes a quit good caster" dont post this all the time because they dont care so much.
Its diffrent with other popular casters because they have many fanboys. Gretorp is a good caster but not one of the guys who collect fanboys. This result in the fact that you see many negative posts here and fewer positive

Tips to improving NASL: Just look at what the IPL is doing. Take notes. Especially if they don't invite totalbiscuit or hd back to cast season 2.

Half-joking aside, shorter seasons would also probably benefit it. It's absolutely daunting how long NASL1 lasted. I lost interest halfway through. Unless you are following a specific player or team I think most people will just lose interest as long as other things are going on (TSL/GSL/IPL were all going on during NASL, I caught games here and there but overall lost interest.)

I'm not up to date on what changes are coming in the next NASL season. I like what you guys are doing and hope it goes really well and you continue to address issues as they come up.

That one european caster owned. I forgot who he was, but he was pretty awesome. Gretorp and Incontrol are both decent casters, but they don't mesh well together. Incontrol is pretty awesome in general, and gretorp is a likable guy. I like Idra casting because he knows what he is talking about, but I can see why a lot of people probably don't.

I think it's just a matter of time until Gretorp is completely accepted as a caster. Remember, people hated on Tasteless a lot during GSL season 1 and 2, but once they got used to him, everybody came to like him.

Besides, the viewer numbers speak the loudest. 15k for both the NA and Euro casts is pretty impressive. If they can get more Koreans next season, they might hit the TSL viewership rates.

Think Nasl have done a great job on improving already
The first time i watched it (wich was also their first show i think) i was like: what is this for a weird thing:s?
But I slowly got to like and apreciate the casters and i think that there is one thing that sets apart nasl in a positive way from manny other competitions
Nasl is the first competition wich deliverd continuity on a daily basis
I could get easy acces to and watch pro games with commentary every day for 2-3 weeks now and no other competition has offerd me that yet and i think they realy did a verry good job with that
Off course manny things can still be improved i guess, like the studio they sit in, and maybe more guest commentators like idra but overall i think they done a quiet good job

I think Psy would be a really good guest commentator, he knows a shit ton about the game (he is in vile) and his casting style is excellent, I dont see why more tournaments dont have him casting.

Well, simply because people who give crap to casters tend to talk more about it than people appriciating them, i'll just come forth and say I really do not get the hate on the casters. Both incontrol and gretorp has gotten really good at casting in my opinion. Having Idra on was great as well.

And guys saying that Husky etc would do great, and better for that matter. I do not agree, not because Husky is a bad caster, he's an entertaining caster, and I really appriciate what he does, and considering how much interesse he creates for the pro-scene with his casts on youtube, I can't do other than respect him. HOWEVER, I personally prefer idra/incontrol/gretorp by a lot, why? Because they have insight, and they explain what is happening and why. The most annoying casters in my opinion is the ones who say stuff that is flat out wrong. I like to actually learn something while watching, and you can just learn stuff from those who go for pure entertainment to a certan extent. Do i learn anything new from hearing that you can support this much on this many bases etc? no. But hearing why people are pushing here instead of there, now instead of later and with these units etc, makes one think, and one learns.

Anyway, that might just be my opinion, Just wanted to say that there's people who really appriciates the more intellegent casting that NASL has over just pure entertainment. (Not saying it's not entertaining, it's that too )

It's obvious what most people think by the increase in viewership and the sales of HD passes over the past few weeks. A vocal minorities opinion does matter but not so much when a show is becoming more successful as it goes on in it's current form.

I do not know if this has already come up yet in the previous 113 pages. (i've only read 5-6 random pages).

Im sure in order to fund the prize pool/run the league, you required sponsorships.

If you have any, a section on the website should be set up in order to list these sponsors (like the "Partners" section on the Dreamhack website).
Currently it looks like; if you have any sponsors; they are not getting any exposure. At least from what I've seen in the broadcast or the website. (aside from the generic adds put up by Justin.tv., which arent directly sponsoring NASL)

I believe making it more clear, and visible who sponsors the NASL would make the league more attractive to possible future sponsors.

they dont have sponsers yet.
My theorie is:
They talk to possible sponsers and didnt get the amount of money they wanted.
So they said: "let us show you how good we are and how much viewers we get in s1 and than we come back and talk over it again..."
