No. Has Blizzard? Yes. 12 years ago.

Don't get me wrong I'm just glad that we'll finally have chat channels but seriously it's pathetic that we didn't have them to begin with. I love Blizzard but they should be embarrassed, ashamed of themselves, etc.

What's your point? The old battle.net chat system is incompatible with the new Battle.net.

It's understandable because this patch will give us something totally new and recently invented: CHATCHANNELS. After months of hard work and heavy "internal testing" (I mean, we are talking about chatchannels, which have to be tested very carefully) we will get them!

Chat channels is not an idea they have built from the ground up. They had it in BW so its not like they don't know how to a chat channel works but form what i've seen on PTR these chat channels are unimpressive but at least we have them.

It was sarcasm, sorry .

Sorry forgot you work for Bliz and know every little detail about their chat. Point is, when cars have cup holders in 1998, you expect the cars that you buy in 2010 to have cup holders as well.

And when SC1 came out, the situation was no different than it is now (it was harder if anything) yet they did just fine.

Is it possible that Blizzard intended battlenet 2.0 to have chat, but the time limit they gave for the release was to tight to implement it ? Sure they could have delayed it even more, but for chat functions ? Just a theory tho.

Patch 2:

· It is possible to "push" held position units via rapid Move commands.

We are aware of an issue with Zealots and Zerglings where in they can be pushed out of the way even when commanded to hold position. We are working towards a solution and are sorry for the inconvenience, thank you for your patience.

Anything is possible but I seem to remember hearing about how this game was coming out "next year" for like 6 years... it's not like all of a sudden they decided SC2 was gonna come out and they just had to throw out what they had ready. I'll be as happy as anyone when chat channels come out but I'm just puzzled that it took this long and now they have to push it back ANOTHER week? Hopefully their pushing it back for a different reason than the chat channels.

On a related note, why does Blizzard say anything about when these things will happen when they are ALWAYS wrong. This is their only flaw. If they would just keep us in the dark, I'd be happier...
Apologize.

cup holders and chat rooms are completely different. cup holders are a simple feature, where chat rooms take a lot of thought and coding. pretty illogical to compare the two.

-_- You completely missed the point. It is not the cup holder IT SELF that is the point, it's the fact that it's a feature that we've gotten used to, and as such, you expect it to be there.

Chats should have been implemented at the release, plain and simple. Thanks that they are finally doing it, but there is pretty much no defending it, since this was "supposedly" not a rushed release of the game, they had ample opportunity to do so.

meh and the thing that is awkward about chat channels is that theoretically they were already technically done. as the format and layout is nearly the same as the already implemented party chat =/ just that these chat channels are on a larger scale (and they still fill up) but you can now have multiple lobbies and create them.

one other feature that we gotten used to was every gateway being accessible to everyone =/ as i still cant find anyone willing to share their EU account with me so i can try the TSL 3 qualifiers lol.

I thought we were over complaining about the trivial "Chat channel should have been released right away!!" nonsense. It wasn't there, it's coming, less QQ, more "Thanks Blizzard for listening to us".

It's like nothing is ever good enough for some of you people.

Chatrooms were not implemented at release simply because the blizz dev team misjudged it's importance to the community. But seriously, it's not hard to implement one and the amount of hate for bnet 2.0 because of the lack of it is pretty amusing.

But then again, I'm not really that surprised since I work in the software development industry. To the users, the interface forms over 30% of the user's impression of the system whilst the developers usually feel that the interface consists of like 5% of it.

Chat channels is good enough for us. But we ARE going to hold Blizzard to the fire and tell them when they made a mistake. We want our Blizzard games top-notch, as they should be.
