Do you have any idea how quickly 6 pheonix's can wipe out a saturated base and take a couple hits and retreat? I've tested it, and I've dealt with it in ladder. Pheonix's can take a hit from spores while they take out 5-6 drones in a few seconds. What the problem is, is that the time it takes to get a good amount of phoenix's is so short that your economy will never be able to kick in. not only that but protoss is also investing in heavy zealots. It's insanely difficult to defend both and this is coming from experience. You can't even veto maps, so you're pretty screwed if you get delta quadrant or scrap station


Where exactly are you placing your spores? =/

And quick reaction time should save you from losing 5-6 drones. 3 maybe - but for a phoenix or two, isnt that worth it? (And where are your queens in all of this?)

I still dont see how this fixes the early game PvT, where Protoss has to play perfect to just stay alive?

Buffs are great, a Toss might now have 2-3 Obs out around the map and Phoenix's just might change everything now

Anyone can clarify me about that fade out about actions. And about that instead of pressing Z and spawning zealots will be needed to press it out several times???

How fast do you think a spore kills a phoenix? The poster you quoted was perfectly accurate in his assessment. You aren't arguing an opinion at this point, please go and test it yourself if you insist on this being the case. 6+ Phoenix can kill several drones and a queen before a single one falls if you have a three-point spore setup.

I meet the qualifications and have everything set up but when I log in I get an error that says Starcraft 2 isn't added to my battle.net account, which is totally false. Anyone getting this problem?

I placed them in the center of my mineral lines and by reaction time how would you react to pheonix's? run my drones? By the time I have about 3 queens, and this is also delaying lair and what not, if I do get lair then I wont have an economy to support hydras. Protoss doesn't lose pheonix's but they can get about 5 so easily and pick off a queen quickly and retreat. Once you lose a queen, they reinforce with 1-2 more phoenix making it even harder to stop. I know it's a test patch and this is my opinion about the phoenix change coming from experience. If you haven't even tried it yet then I don't see where your credibility comes from. I'm not whining, I'm saying it's difficult to stop. Test it first then reply.

It's the same thing every patch

One race gets nerfed. That race's players mass whine on forums, while the other two races' players tell them to give it some time (possibly with a happy grin on their face).

Only thing I am really concerned about is the state of ZvZ if the fungal change makes it live on the real servers. It will be either a long muta+ling+bling war or a one-base roach timing attack.

Buffing bunkers when no one considered them to be underpowered and we're already seeing too many all-ins.
The larva macro "fix" when no one considered it to be a bug or making Zerg macro too easy.

Buffing Phoenixes and Void Rays which are already popular usable units while doing nothing to increase the popularity of the never used Carriers.

I guess they have to hit with such a big change NOW ... before the "real GSL" starts next year. The pros get to adapt over the christmas holidays that way ...

Many of the changes are not really that great and it feels like they are just panic-adjusting everything at the same time. Obvioulsy this will screw up the balancing totally and result in some awesome screw-ups and boring pushover games until people learn to adapt.

Oh and having a PTR for NA only with such huge changes is giving the NA players a head start to adapt obviously ...

Hallucination coming into effect faster is another one of those changes that would let you delay your robotics tech if it doesn't scout a starport with a techlab so, that's something worth testing. That said was anyone really worried about the research time instead of the mineral/gas cost and the huge sentry energy cost?

Bunker is listed as a temporary change and is likely already reverted.

Larva macro fix is because it's reliant on your keyboard repeat speed and so players who knew that had an advantage over those who didn't.

They only buffed void rays vs massive but they nerfed the upgrade that kept them relevant late game, hopefully opening the way for carriers.

this will be huge!
fungal is maby the biggest change. especially in zvz, where mutas become a viable strat again. but will be hard vs toss phoenix builds. we will see

Just now I watched HuK against some Korean terran.
HuK built like 8-9 phoenixes and gateway units.
Terran destroyed rocks, meantime he lost two vikings and two medivacs for free. Brought his all scvs and stimrolled HuK like with no chance. already had 3-4 turrets in his base.

How the fuck phoenixes are ridic?

I think Terran allin is ridic. And this is not only case, remember bitbybit at r16? very bad player with OP strategy?

If i Honestly invested in 3 spores for each base, that's 6 spores, ruining my economy. Dude I've tested this in customs, and ladder. I think you should test it before you argue against me first. And zerg losing 4-5 drones while protoss loses 1 pheonix, who do you think gets the better trade? seriously. -.-
