I dont think tho that Pearce is involved in the Dev of SC2/Bnet 2.0 in that lenght of a great depht, hes aware of the fundamentals but not the process of it, lets not forget he is still the executive producer for WoW and also senior vice president, he has to keep track of alot of things.

Honestly maintaining good relations with your loyal customers is a better long term investment than the money spent/profit gained from lack of lan, unwillingness to develop chat channels and stubborn attempts at garnering small profits from a declining E-sports market they didn't even play much of a role in creating in the first place.

I don't understand. Who WOULDN'T want chat rooms? I mean, I'm not a big fan at all, but apparently tons of people want it. And no LAN play, that is just ridiculous. Can they not see the number of pre-orders they already have for SC2? That alone should make them not worry about their game being pirated. This game will sell SO many copies and yet it's like they're taking all these measures to sell even more copies of their game. It seems so unlike Blizzard. They're pulling a fucking Bungie. "Here, buy this game, so you can play this game a year later! (ODST)" They're coming about this the totally wrong way. Kinda nerve-wracking. Makes me wonder how they're gonna fuck up Diablo 3 whenever it finally launches.

Petred, the positives from having channels outweighs an infinite amount of positives by not having one. You bring to our attention that you can talk to your own friends through your own ways.

Okay what about the other players who enjoy talking or meeting new friends through their hobby--Starcraft/gaming? From personal experience--I definitely enjoy meeting people from chatrooms. Course there are the occasional spammers/flamers but I rather have a spammer and be able to meet some awesome new people than not have either of them.

Plus one of the reasons why MMOs are the most popular games because of this aspect. The ability to meet random people and play with them. And if Blizzard is all about listening to the community and making money then why not support a feature that is seriously appreciated by all, except for you, obviously.

No lan...I don't think you see the full spectrum of this concerning issue. First of all you yourself have spoken about competitive play and secondly Blizz has made many statements that they want to popularize ESports. Concerning this, a key aspect is how can you popularize a competition when you hinder their capabilities? I don't know if you follow any sports but I'm sure you can sympathize with this concept: how can any sport be popular when its best potentials and moments can't be displayed because of hindrances caused by its owners? People are excited over sports because of the spectacular moments they create. Now imagine all those moments and cut them by half because there was lag.

Yes, I want Blizzard to be profitable...well I don't necessarily want that specifically but I will support a company that produces good content. But when they say they listen to the community and don't address a very valid issue posed by the community that is just bullocks. When they say they listen and a guy representing them says in an interview "Do you REALLY want chat channels?", then that is just...ignorant and infuriating.

Finally I'd like to point out that I understand your standpoint. That as long as things are balanced you don't care about the other things mentioned. You aren't part of the community of gamers that enjoy features like channels or cross realms. That is totally fine. But the part that is convoluted in your post is that you are using your attitude towards something that you don't care about to argue against it. That is saying...I don't give birth; it doesn't affect me so I don't think women should be allowed to seek abortions.

I'm interested to see when the game is released how all the game site reviewers handle all the bnet2.0 failings. If they aren't bribed, I would like to see them give honest criticisms and bring the overall score of sc2 down. No amount of sugar coating can hide the fact that Bnet2.0 is seriously lacking aspects that will aid the future of esports.

I know game site reviews should all be taken with a grain of salt, but a vast number of people base their purchasing plans on such reviews.

The problem with LAN is, no I don't need LAN personally. But I've always had high hopes for SC2 as a n ESPORTS game. I dream of the day in 2020 when the SC2 Legacy of the Void World Cup Final is broadcasted live to a billion audience in dozens of countries through both Internet and TV and that is not going to work without LAN.
