Guild Wars came out years ago and it had it all: ONE game/server for all regions, game client in many different languages, Guild vs Guild matches between teams from all around the world, Observer mode where ANYONE could spectate high level PvP matches, Chat channels organized by region (you could select and load between different european languages, northamerican channels, many asian + an international channel where people from different regions could meet outside of PvP matches). See, the guys who made Guild Wars were the Blizzard guys who actually knew what they were doing. Does it make sense now?

No chat channels? I am pretty sure I can figure out how to talk to my own friends, thank you. No LAN? A necessity for today's technological environment. This will probably become standard for most new games. I fully expect that once a pro gaming league becomes more established that Blizzard will allow for the largest of the tournaments to be played on LAN. Besides, with today's technology fast internet is becoming more and more affordable and common. Also, you really want Blizzard to be profitable, trust me. People complain about Blizzard trying to get the most money out of the game, but if Blizzard is profitable then they can continue to make excellent games. If they start losing money then they will be forced to release half assed games like most other companies do. All this stuff really isn't a big deal in my mind. I just want a fun, balanced game that is good for high level competitive play(still asking for a lot). I think they are delivering on that.

I've added facebook friends... and immediately regretted it because I really don't want to game with them. There's no place to cooldown and talk about the game or get to know my competitors outside of the awkward 1 on 1 chat. Then there's the matchmaking where you play against players that just play the game that discourages socialness and are so anonymous that you might as well be playing against computers o_O. The only reason I'm not advertising SC2 to anyone is because of how embarrassingly lonely and archaic it feels to try to get groups of people together >=/

Blizzard already has all the money they need to make the best games in the history of mankind, its their talent and decision making that is lacking. You dont like chat channels ? Well I do! And im not gonna waste my time explaining why since it has been done by many. No lan is a step backwards, I should have the option of playing with 0 latency if im in a lan, its just not right, and a horrible direction for the future for any game. And its easy for someone who lives in the US to dismiss something like this because for you "ast internet is becoming more and more affordable and common" But guys like me will get bad ping even with the best avaible internet.

"do you really want chat channels"... the answer shoulda been "have you ever tried to play an RTS competitevly?" or "have you ever played an RTS online in your life?" for all i care keep your facebook, your campaigns and all the features that don't make a game last as long as you -i pressume- want it to last. do you realize we have to communicate through msn and irc, how hard it is to assemble a team and tell them to get ready for upcoming matches, and that we have to E-mail tournament results to the organizers? that we need to use third party programs and websites to communicate and organize events? blizzzzzzzzzaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrddddddddddddddddddddd greed has made you silly. edit: i've made so many posts about chat channels on various sites and bnet forums, i've made petitions for people to sign etc. i could see this coming and tried to wake blizzard up, hopefully its not too late. "dude you seriously think they're not gonna implement chat channels? its just because they dont want people chatting in the beta they want them playing"< average idiot. so average idiot i hope you read this and think "damn CatZ was right". TOO LATEEEE. see the sad part is... they don't care, i doubt they read their forums or big community websites like this, because people will buy the game regardless, and that's all they care about.
