And as for the infested terran spell, you can spawn one every 4 minutes! Imba!!! In a normal game you will be able to get out 2-3 per overseer.

I don't see why Infestors can still move while burrowed, it doesn't really fit anymore.

Overseer is the solution to zerg supply problems now: Once you hit 200/200, spam Overseers and mass Infested Terrans. Protoss could be in trouble if a Zerg manages to shut down all production after a big lategame fight.

Ultralisk change is ok, less overlap with Banelings. At 450 HP they fall even faster to Marauders, though. They still need 100 upgrades to be of any use at all.


Overall I'm quite disappointed with this patch.

Just tested in editor.

Conditions:

-off creep
-no upgrades for either

Immortal kills Ultra with 83hp left.

Notes:

Once shields are down on Immortal its much more powerful, so in an actual fight a few lings to help drop shield and the Immortal gets hurt.

Anyone checked the mana costs before starting to whine about new overseer? It's not like overseer will hang out in your base guarded by a group of infested terrans, corrupting every building left and right.

I like that Ultras can now destroy FFs but I rather wish they buffed its defenses+speed rather than dmg. Zerg was in no need of another end-game dmg dealer, but of another tank especially after roach nerf.

I think its pretty strong, for 25 energy you get 25 % more damage and numerous other buffs. 3 Infestors at 150 energy could buff 18 units to do 25% more damage thats pretty significant in a big fight.

Terrans rushes will be more difficult to stop,they said they didnt want that kind of play.Protoss changes are ok and reasonable.Overlords contaminate looking OP and they had to nerf broodlord.

At 25 energy, Frenzy is totally reasonable to use in mid-game hydra fights, or on banelings to make them immune to slow.

What a big update from Blizzard. Hats off for them trying out various ideas. The ability fo play 3v3 and 4v4, and properly play on custom maps is a very important change. A lot of complaints on testing in the beta has been about the maps not being big enough or unsuitable for certain types of play, now there is a chance to correct that. I'd say a tournament mandated custom map would be needed so that a single non-blizzard map will get a lot of playtime and actual results.

At first this one really nagged at me, it just annoys me with these kind of warcraft-esque spells (including the 20% damage buff for corrupter) with %tages and snares, stuns etc where you have 1 unit cast a spell on 1 other unit like auras or what not; it should either be aoe or selfcast skill. But then I visualised a FGd ultra just keep on going and I thought it can be a pretty awesome effect. Just dont like the way its implemented. One of the main reasons I like Z is that its not cluttered up with small and annoying details like that, its more handsdown; its not that Z dont have micro, its just of another kind. I fear there will be no race that caters to the wished of those like me.

I predict massoverseers beeing pretty OP with infested terrah harass, and making anti-air necessary in everygame vs Z. (Z only needs lair for overseers so its a given)

Massive units mashing FFs is cool, by far the best change in this patch. (even though thors are so slow they wont be able to take advantage of that) The rest of the ultraliskchanges I dont care much about, ultralisk even less useful against terran now, but will be deadly vs protoss. I think we will se abit more ultralisk, but T will keep owning Z with mech, and T will keep owning P with just about anything they choose to use.

Terran getting buffed again is completely ununderstandable, I dont get it. The only reason I can think of is that they want T to be a bit stronger since most new players will probably be T once the game releases. (after all the single campaign focus on T). But that would mean that they are abandoning the e-sport concept, so I dont think so. I just understand.

I feel the pain of toss beeing nerfed again, but the VR nerf was rather minor and pretty warranted. And the nerv vs massive to FF is just cool and it was necessary to give a counter to FF. But P needed some buffs aswell, so too onesided.

^^^ Probably the same people who told Zerg to suck it up when Roaches went 2 food. Regardless of previous balance, a tier 1 unit doubling in supply cost is a far larger change to balance than -1 range on a VR and weak ass ultralisks trampling your FFs.

Okay, the people that are complaining about Terran being too strong:

WTF are you talking about? Are you playing the same game we are? Terran loses nearly every tournament, they have the lowest win-share on bnet according to blizzard, and even in recent tournaments (such as the HDH), Zerg and Protoss players routinely run the entire tournament without interference.
