There's a couple of hard levels: The odin level, becuase tychus is a moron, and the taldarim gas level, I just killed everything on that level, rather than bother with doing it "normally" The gas level was VERY easy for me, all you have to do is build bunkers and missle turrets before you start collecting the gas (get the extra hp for bunker instead of the wimpy turret)

Marine and Medics do get you through most of the campaign and many are pretty straight forward. However, you do need to keep your eyes out for the few that are a bit tricky. Like someone stated before, the one where you have to guard Odin can be pretty annoying. Make good use of your cloaked wraiths and snipe key units such as the Raven, Siege tanks, Bunkers, etc. There are also videos uploaded where players have beaten each stage in brutal. So you can go watch and see what they do to help give you a better sense of what you need to be doing to win.

The only missions on brutal that were actually hard for me were In Utter Darkness and Supernova. The rest just go either MMM or your newest unit(if it's something that is used in multy-player). I found that campaign specific units were usually outclassed by the newer units. If you're having trouble with a mission just leave it and do a different one if you can so you get some better research, units and/or upgrades.

It can get difficult but if you are familiar with the missions from a previous play through you can push through without too much trouble.

I finished it on brutal first time I played it, got stuck on the final for maybe one whole day or so. (since it is not fun to repeat the same mistake over and over).

Like getting marine stim+medic make the jungle brutal mission SO easy. I had the perdition turret instead of the planetary fortress and I didn't have the mind control tower and finished the campaign in 2days(real not hours played), but I have to say that the science vessel make the life WAY more easy for most of the hard mission. Really just try it you won't pass every mission on the first try but every mission is doable even without the most optimal upgrades/tech choice that makes some mission (too?) easy.

For the level with the Odin, block it in after the first base and you can take the level at your own pace. For supernova, spam banshees, a few vikings, marine/medic, and send your cloaked banshees off to snipe the artifact, take out pylons to drop detection, scan and vikings to drop obs, and push with your marines to split there defences. A few science vessels make it easy. As for rank, I'm high gold or at least was before my hiatus, probably mid-silver now, so by far not the best 1v1 and rather lacking in several fields, but the campaign was simple by comparison. The last mission gave me a little trouble, until I stopped blocking with PF and instead put up a line of bunkered marines, 4 tanks behind them, and spammed banshees to snipe Kerrigan/Nydus. Took me three tries altogether.

The enemy has pretty much no detection. I had 2 ghosts (or spectres) nuking the *** out of everything there, uncontested, permacloaked. Very easy to do when theres nothing to attack you apart from the waves they send. The last level can be done by just making tanks , tanks and tanks. Upgrade them , bunch em up and snipe kerrigan with a few ghosts. Oh yeah so tanks tanks tanks and ghosts ![]() But yeah, check out Zai's walktroughs. They are good and most of them is the exact tactic of what you should do to win.

Nowadays I just build marines+medics for fun and see how fast every mission can be done. It's pretty easy with that combo, since it's so cost effective with upgrades. Don't really need all that complicated tactics of any sort on any map.
