EscapePlan9 Age: 24 Height: 6'0'' Weight now: 180 lbs Goal: less fat, more muscle. I still look thinnish, but have a little gut now. Start date: January 3rd (today!) End date: Feb 12th (arbitrary, but it's my birthday, why not?)
Also, I was watching Scooby's Youtube Channel and he mentioned indoor cardio exercises for the cold. One that I'd recommend, especially for we gamers, is DDR Universe. It even keeps track of how many calories you've burnt and places it on a graph. That, or just dancing in general helps with cardio, although you'll probably feel like a fairy after doing it for an hour unlike DDR.

Indeed.. some BS though.
Fruit doesn't prevent colds or make you "talk better", but is very healthy for you and will make you feel good and energized.
Carrots, and pretty much any fresh veggies, are good for you. Make a salad with a medley of them and a lite dressing.
Free-range animal fat contains roughly the same amount of fat as non-free-range. Especially since the definition of "free range" is extremely vague and easy to comply with. If you let the animals "free" for an hour a day, it can be considered free range.
If you have weak bones, you need more calcium, iron, and protein most likely. Celery mostly provides fiber. Try having a varied diet of nutritious food and you'll get a good intake of the nutrients you need. Also, a multi-vitamin is helpful.
Eating certain foods (he mentioned blueberries) do not affect your memory. Some may make you more energized and able to think quicker, but they do not make your memory better.
Before you go to bed, your body's metabolism is already slowing down, so try not to eat near bedtime. It doesn't matter if it's healthy food or not - although if you are REALLY hungry, something light is better than junk of course.

I've been strict with working out before, but the last 6 months I've been doing nothing but smoking weed and drinking alcohol. I feel so out of shape it's unbelievable. My new years resolutions focus on improving myself and becoming healthy once again. I hope to bulk to 200+ lbs by the end of April and then begin cardio routines once summer starts to reverse the effects marijuana has had on me.

Also want a 6 pack, does anybody know the most optimal exercises for this?

Hrm Interesting I will participate. I want to put on about 10-15 lbs of muscle (which has proven in the past two years to be difficult). However over the summer of this year I put on about 5 lbs which was big for me since my weight hasn't changed in about 4 years. I've lost about 3-4 lbs in the past 4 months which sucks since I couldn't go to the gym with a new job and a busy semester and I have been trying to eat more. Not really working in my favor...
So here we go:

2 things i will do 100% lose the weight i gained over the past few months: don't drink juice all the time, drink water instead. stop eating late night snacks (this can be solved by going to bed an hour or two earlier, since usually i feel hungry around 1-2)

Very nice thread i think i may join later.
I really liked that second youtube channel, though, there is one question bothering me and I guess everyone similar to me - majority of such sources are about losing weight and making your fatty body musculous. But what if I'm a skinny guy with fast metabolism who can eat how much he wants but not gaining up a lb ever? Then I think I shouldn't follow such guides and exercises which are aimed to weight loss, because for me they would be less effective even if i eventually grow up some muscle and gain a bit. They should work on different principles I guess - if you are fat, you change it into your muscles, but if you are thin, you have nothing to change into muscles..
So if anyone could link us here a source specialized to this problem, I'd really appreciate it!
(hope i'm not much off topic)

If your skinny and you have a fast metabolism you might think you can eat how much you want. But try eating how much you want and then double it. Im sure you will start gaining some lbs. I have the same problem. But of course this doesnt mean just junk food eat healthy/protein foods, milk etc.

Yeah I had that mentality, but I'm slowly getting rid of it. Fast food and candy is pretty much out but I'm having a hard time with soda and chips.

ondik, pengu1n, DrainX, skinny-ppl-trying-to-get-buff powa! =)
What do you guys think about sleeping less? I've got this problem of sleeping too much - having too much free time in the morning, getting up regularly at 11AM feeling not hungry. (I go to sleep at around 1AM, last meal usually around 22-23PM). I think it would definitely help to set some goals in the morning, get up earlier, eat a breakfast as soon as I'm able to and then eat regularly the whole day.
Thoughts?
