losing fernandes would definitely put united in a top 4 race rather than title contention.
![[image loading]](https://i.ibb.co/5YSNhNT/Untitled.png) look at those stats. for a midfielder to do that is insane. losing him would instantly put united a tier lower. pogba like you say though is hit or miss and honestly we could probably get by without him. our issue last season wasnt lack of goals, it was poor defense and with varane that might just be enough.

If anyone actually remembers: manutd was not a top4 side without bruno fernandes
|
I think his goal tally is a bit inflated by the ridiculous 11 penalties Utd got last season, but those are still impressive numbers.

Ya, with Pogba the issue is that he might just end up getting playtime but playing terribly - which, in a way, is worse than being injured. At the same time, his top level is so good that you can't really sideline him either.
|
I am not a fan of Pogba he has incredible talent but way to on and off for my taste. The problem is not that he does not play top level all the time but his floor is simply to low and game lossing.
|
If I were to visit a Utd game now and had to choose whether to play Pogba or not, I would def taka a chance to see Pogba magic, I enjoy that immensely. But I can see it's not a good recipe for winning a league, you need more consistency.

City were playing slow and crossing the ball like they already had Kane on the pitch and then Spurs had a few good counters in which they scored one of them. Its also probably the worst thing they could have done cuz now Levy has a window to accept the bid from City for Kane if it is indeed on the table as the fans would accept it now after thinking they can compete still. Must be watching another game cause Spurs were fantastic and executed their game plan perfecty. They didn't create alot of chances but they hustled like mad and kept City quiet for most of the game. Fully deserved the win imo. i agree with pande and didnt think spurs were good. very sloppy in midfield, failed to make use of possession won and their attacking movement was pretty poor. sons goal was just down to his own ability rather than tottenham being good. city just couldnt break down a packed box and looked lost unfortunately. Yeah that is what i saw, City playing the EXACT same way will beat a team 4-0 later on this season, it is just sometimes when they are missing DeBruyne and not fit/ready (i know this isn't really an excuse as it is the same for all teams right now, but City have started slow the last few seasons) u get that result. Spurs attacked and looked ok on some counters but that is just normal footy and "statistically" that game ends 2-0 to City most of the time xD but we all know football isn't played by stats.

Why would you let a young superstar go to buy an old superstar? I mean, Ronaldo now is better than Mbappe now. But next year? Ronaldo is a beast, but Mbappe is still young and hasn't peaked yet.
That said, Ronaldo and Messi on the same team is the stuff of legends.

Yeah it literally works for 12-18 months at max before it falls apart because Messi/Ronaldo can barely run anymore / injured all the time. Mbappe and Haaland are going to be the Messi/Ronaldo in the next 12-18 months as well.

id like to see ronaldo and messi play together
|
Poor midfielders that have to defend for that attack
|
Yeah, I'm curious to see how far even the current lineup goes and who has to do the chores there. It feels like it's pushing the limits of how far pure starpower can take you.
I'm not sure, but maybe that's why Mbabbe is eager to leave now rather than a year later. Somebody likely has to do some less glamorous work and out of the three it may very well fall to him.

I know Neymar and Messi are friends and whatnot, but if you bring in CR7 I would rather let Neymar go than Mbappe. I don't know why somebody would want to keep the floppy fish

I don't know why somebody would want to keep the floppy fish Neymar, apart from a good while back where the rumour was he wanted to reunite with Messi at Barca (before they went full basket case), hasn’t really intimated he wants away.
Rumours have been swirling with pretty regular frequency that Mbappe wants to go to another club, primarily Real for a fair while. Plus he’s approaching the end of his contract, I don’t think PSG want him to go and they’ve been pretty bullish on that, but it might get to a time they’d rather proactively sell him than him go for free.
One of those weird scenarios where I think if PSG win the Champions League Mbappe is more likely to seek a new challenge than if they don’t.
Bringing in Ronaldo would be nuts though. Juve and Barca have struggled at the top end of European competition carrying Ronaldo and Messi’s lack of defensive workfare as individuals, I’m not sure any team can do anything at that level carrying two.
I mean at the real top end of the CL, you’re either really good at pressing, or your entire gameplan revolves around it as a main component.
Could be enough to take a league, you’re going to get butchered going against a top dog in the CL with 2, maybe 3 of your team not pressing in an era where coordinated pressing is such a big factor in the game’s tactics
|
maybe psg is just qatar's playground and they dont really give a fuck about winning the cl. maybe the union of cr7 and messi is more intriguing to them simply because it was every football fans wet dream. i for one would be extremely happy if they pulled it off. fan service done right

Ronaldo actually had a friend going to the press saying he really wants to leave Juventus, funny thing is, the feeling is mutual between him and the club, but nobody really wants to pay the full price which is why the Pogba to Juventus rumour mills has been turning again, in a swap deal for Ronaldo, seems rather wishful thinking but who knows.
Ronaldo having a friend going to the press however is just pathetic knowing the club would rather see him leave as well, so I'm not sure what he tries to gain from that, poor behavior on his part.
Haven't heard of any offerings for him from PSG either and it seems rather unlikely at this point.

I read team Ronaldo has had three different wants. One, going to PSG. Two, returning to RM. Three, returning to United. Messi to PSG might have ruined the first. Somehow I'm not really 'feeling' him going to RM - mostly because I think RM wants to focus on Mbappe.
I could see a Pogba trade working out for both parts, though. United has a lot of youngsters that could benefit massively from having Ronaldo as a mentor and source of inspiration, Fernandes is there, good relationship with Solskjær, the club and the fans. But there I also think United would much rather concentrate on getting Haaland next year... (I think Haaland is like 90% likely to end up in Manchester next summer, but there are pretty strong arguments for why he might prefer either city or united.)
