I could see a Pogba trade working out for both parts, though. United has a lot of youngsters that could benefit massively from having Ronaldo as a mentor and source of inspiration, Fernandes is there, good relationship with Solskjær, the club and the fans. But there I also think United would much rather concentrate on getting Haaland next year... (I think Haaland is like 90% likely to end up in Manchester next summer, but there are pretty strong arguments for why he might prefer either city or united.)
To be honest RM and ManU both really want Haaland, and depending on this years transfer i could see him go to either next year. Mbappe just seems to expensive this year for RM. Think did in income and wage cap is to difficult. Could see C7 for them if he really wants return and will take low salary. The increase in Jerseys and other would make perfect sense, and give more Cap for next year to bring in Haaland or Mbappe or both with Mbappe on free transer and Haaland on big transfer. Would be strange transition year with both Haaland and C7 on team one year but would make sense. As you said C7 to ManU just makes most sense. PSG C7 and Messi team sounds like someone rich could think up so why not. Spurs (if selling Kane) and City kinda makes semse, depends if C7 feels snub by ManU.

Everyone wants Haaland, but Norwegian pundits seem pretty convinced he wants to go to PL, and I think RM is aiming more for Mbappe (and that Mbappe also has RM as his ideal destination.)
Then Haaland has a very good relationship with Solskjær, while his dad played for City and he grew up as a City fan. Chelsea signed Lukaku again, Liverpool, for whatever reason, is never really mentioned as a destination.

Because haaland is not a klopp style transfer

This feels like City do not want a deal so they threw out this half assed offer knowing it would be rejected.

I could see them being happy to wait until next season at least. Mbabbe is probably heading RM, Chelsea already has Lukaku, Barca likely isn't going to competete on big signings and so on. Due to all that, I think City has a decent shot at securing either Haaland or Kane or some other suitable fellow next season.
This season could be tricky without a consistent goalscorer, but I guess it's alright as long as they secure UCL.

typical Levy to play hardball. Will try to press the price until end of TW. Also think Spurs want to buy a forward before selling so the price doesn't sky rocket.

More like not an FSG style transfer. I'm sure Klopp would love to have him. I think Liverpool might've missed an opportunity to sign him back when they played RB Salzburg in CL, when they went for Minamino instead.

Ronaldo posted a message (instagram I think it was) basically dismissing the RM rumour as pretty much every other rumour too. Can't be good for either side though as they both want to depart from one another.. Not sure what to think of this.
Him going back to ManU in a swap deal with Pogba seems like the most plausible deal but.. why the message dismissing all the rumours? Confusing as hell.
Would be amazing for ManU to get Ronaldo back and maybe even Haaland (or Haaland next summer).

if united going to sell pogba, i would think they'd rather get back a midfield player and not another forward. they would literally just have bruno.
who's the english fans/media siding with on kane/spurs? seems to me like if a gentlemen agreement was existing, spurs is looking pretty bad, and its not like city is offering some low price.

The CR7 statement felt like a lot of words to say not much. He insinuates against any rumours of him moving back to RM but doesn't actually shut it down completely. Nor does he allude toward or away from any other rumours.
I came away no wiser from reading it.

Well he is 36 years old and is gonna be free next year from Juventus.Maybe a return to Manu is a real option to finish his career or maybe Juventus will renew his contract. He is biggest name in Juventus and he is scoring well in Calcio. Many people think PSG will go for him but now that Messi is in the club the chances are really low imo.

sky is reporting that lewandowski suddenly decided he wants to move from bayern. price tag is 110m kane is probably crying in some corner somewhere now. if city could bring that down to 90-100 i would take lewandowki over kane any day

That is just rumor mill. Lewa is free next summer and will go to RM, but I don't see Bayern letting him leave now and on such short notice to get replacement
EDIT: Somehow I thought we have 2022 already ^^ sorry my bad

lewandowskis contract runs out in 2 yrs

In general it's really weird that Lewa would suddenly decide to leave at this point of the window. The only likely thing I can think of is some kind of falling off with Nagelsmann.
I think Reddit was even speculating if this is just a City trick to give the Kane transfer a bit of an extra push.

Problem with Lewa is his age, no one is paying that kinda money for a guy that age, yes he is fit and yes he is doing well right now but that is in Bundesliga only where he has spent his career. To move to say England to be asked to do it straight away will be a hard ask imo at his age and how long left does he have at the top top level? Messi and Ronaldo are doing good numbers still at their ages but not in the biggest of leagues?
Lewa was offered to Chelsea by his agent this summer as his agent is good friends with Marina and Roman but they knew it would be a big figure to get him from Bayern and at that time were not interested in selling anyway.
