Edit where is Locatelli gone miss him for Italy Veratti is first choice on his position

Simón looking very shaky when he needs to use his feet.

Yeah personally I would move Veratti central Def and replace Jorginho seems to slow of this match.

That was kinda waiting to happen, honestly. This second half Italy has just been waiting for that.

And all of a sudden Spain are horrible in defense

What people don’t understand is that the British like losers. It feels somehow cheap to support the best. They don’t need support and it’s too calculating, cheering for the better team to win is emotionless, it’s just a rational decision. That’s why people still shout “come on Tim” at Murray. Murray doesn’t need encouragement, he’s really good at tennis in a boring way, he didn’t have it in him to lose in the semis year after year. The British love to have invented a thing, have a lot of history with the thing, and then see Europeans and Americans doing it better. That’s the national feeling of disappointment and loss we crave.
If you listen to the words of 3 Lions that’s what they’re describing. It’s not about the winning, it’s about the believing in winning despite all the evidence only to be let down, but all being let down together as a nation.
If England actually do bring it home then it will be a betrayal of the great English tradition of backing lost causes and losers. Optimal would be losing to Denmark in a tragic penalty shootout. Nothing would better embody the real essence of “it’s coming home”. There’s a reason the song isn’t “it’s already home”, we don’t want it to ever get home, just a perpetual state of believing that it will one day come home.

That looked like a penalty to me
Bonucci was playing a handball sitting on a grass in a box, since when it is not a penalty?

I can't tell anymore result, all the subs just have destroyed rhythm of the game.

Wow Tiago isn’t having the best of times since he came on.

Chiellini is having fun...

In penalty shootouts goals suddenly seem to shrink to half of their normal size in that kind of camera angle.

This game was the true finale of this competition!

So if you win a pen shootout, you get eliminated in the next round in a pen shootout. Thats the rule! Sorry for spoilering the final result. But luckily you don't know yet, who will be the other finalist.

Agreed. I don't think Denmark/England can top this.

Spain was better than expected, but happy Italy won.

Letting Morata take a pen was a very questionable decision.

A fine post, granted I think that mentality rubs up rather jarringly with other aspects of the national character.
It’s easy to forget too that Italia 90 and Euro 96 were England rehabilitating and reclaiming football as something for everyone to enjoy and away from the rampant hooliganism that lead to numerous tragedies, bans from European competition etc.
