Dani Olmo played a great game, and he and Morata scored Spain's goal together. In that sense, they were both absolutely key in reaching the penalties, making it rather miserable that they were the ones to fail the penalties. That said, over the tournament, Italy has been better and showed more interesting football than Spain, so I'm not too sad about the final outcome. | ||

On fine margins these things go I suppose. I feel Spain tend to be underrated these days by comparison to the reasonably recent class of Xavi and Iniesta. They did beat Germany 6-0 not all that long ago and in Pedri it looks like they have the next great European midfield player. | ||
