I don't think William is currently playing at the level of Man It'd. He's shown the potential but he has since plateaued in the last couple of years. Maybe a change of air will bring him back to the route to fulfill his potential.
Rui Patrício I would guess will be signing for Wolves. Podence is very talented and I'd guess would fit in a top half la liga team.
The big question marks are Bas Dost, Acuña and Bruno Fernandes, all likely to terminate contracts or force transfers from sporting this Summer. Bas Dost is a lethal striker that should have a lot of interested parties. Acuña will be part of Argentina's world cup squad and is rumored to be wanted in Italy. Bruno Fernandes is probably mostly unknown outside Portugal but this year he was very impressive and is currently Portugal's most on-form midfielder and Sporting's best player - the only one that I think would make it in a top tier club.

Bas Dost is a "lethal striker" in Portugal….not shown (besides that freak season) that in a proper league or setting as far as I am aware.
Plus he is not young and the rumoured interested parties in him were all mid tier teams. I like Dost very much but I don't see him going to a very good team after SCP.
With all the rumours regarding Bruno Fernandes I expect him to be known by main clubs by now, even if not by the general public. He is in fact Sporting's best player now (not a fan of Gelson). He will fit on a La liga side the best I think, BPL is a different beast.
William Carvalho should have no place on a PL top team.

^If Jorgensen leaves us in the summer. I think we(Feyenoord) would very much be interested in Dost. We've be trying to get him since his Heerenveen days haha and he isn't getting any younger.
Btw thank you for the info warding.

I don't see Dost going to Feyenoord. More likely he ends up (back) at a mid-tier Bundesliga team. Or maybe in Turkey or Russia.

I don't think the chance is high, but I definitely think we are in with a chance if he wants to return to the Netherlands. I mean Ajax are never going to go for him and PSV are getting Janssen.
|
Any chance he'll go back to Wolfsburg? They sure could use a boost.

Nice start for England in friendlies, looked really good first half vs Nigeria, to then win 2-1 after a comeback from Nigeria second half.

Austria 0-1 Germany at half time, Özil scoring apparently his 23rd goal in his 90th game....? I wouldve guessed he would be at maybe 15 goals, given that he isnt known for scoring goals. Neuer barely had anything to do; but he kicked the ball directly to an austrian just about 25 metres from the goal. Several good counter attacking chances gone to waste. Sane looks very active but always seems to make suboptimal decisions/lacked vision. Petersen was productive when he got ball, but that shouldve happened more often.

Özil scoring so much might be because Germany has been running so few pure strikers. Last Word Cup they only had Klose there and the rest were closer to attacking midfielders by some classifications. Probably opens up some opportunities for the less scoring oriented players.

Sky Sports been as misleading as ever running all the international friendlies results under a large "WORLD CUP' caption.

Why would you even care about result of a friendly match with World Cup knocking in your door lol

Well because, these friendly matches aren't your average meaningless friendly. This is where players are trying to force themselves into starting line up for the world cup and the manager tweaking his team/tactics. So it isn't like its a million miles away from what lineups will be at the world cup for the opening game.
Not saying that because Germany lost to Austria they are going to go 0-3 in groups, no, but it proves they are not going into said tournament all guns blazing.

It doesn't really prove anything. Friendlies are a whole different beast compared to a tournament. Italy is always aweful in friendlies but often goes very far in tournaments to name on example.

I think you're reading too much into it. This is also when the coach experiments with different lineups to figure out what works. Going into the 2014 world cup, Germany drew against Poland and Cameroon, but then crushed it in their last friendly and all through the cup.
E: hehe, looked at the English ones too. They started off winning their first friendly, then drew two and then.. well.. we all know the world cup they had :D

I don't think they count as pure experiments and written off. Germany also is far weaker than post World Cup win by a lot so this result doesn't surprise me, but of course they will get out of groups and then it is always a lottery after that.
I wouldn't say pre world cup friendlies are pointless, unless your Argentina because they are playing the worst opponents in terms of quality i have ever seen..

Far weaker. Okay. Uhm.... what? Basically the only player missing is Lahm.
Schweini is more than adequatly replaced. In fact especially OM/Striker wise the current squad is actually well upgraded with the likes of Reus, Draxler, Sane and Werner.
