Some amazing plays...Quan and Jones...holy shit.
Yeah that was great, one of the most fun ones I've watched. I think #2 to Steelers vs. Cardinals, but I'm from Pittsburgh. I'm still amped right now.

This super bowl was not even close to Giants v. Pats the first time (or last year for that matter)
I think this was one of the more boring super bowls other than a few minutes of the game
I don't like the venue for the Super Bowl (not even counting the power outage), there were only a few good commercials and Beyonce was ok. My favorite part was the confetti.
That was some pandering bullshit right there. God + Family + Manifest Destiny garbage. Most preposterous thing ever when you consider 95% of farm production is owned by government subsidized huge corporations and immigrants are the laborers.

The power outage completely destroyed the momentum the ravens gained, plus the questionable call for a second try for Akers?
Look, I'm not saying the ravens were at a complete disadvantage, power outage happens and every team has to accept that; it's just pure fanboyism to say the 49er lost, because of a ref call. They lost because they played not up to their potential in the first half.
Considering the game was within 3 points, does that mean that the ravens didnt play up to their potential in the 2nd half? So how did they deserve the win with that same logic?
Because they scored more points? That's kinda how the game works
I am just saying that the niners outscore the ravens by nearly as much as the ravens outscored the niners. Nearly. He is saying that a poor first half performance means they dont deserve it, even though the ravens had a poor second half performance. It was enough, barely... but it can entirely be brought down to a ref call and not because of the first half.
It's not only the 49er who got a questionable call against them. For me the call for Akins, who completely missed a FG, was a questionable decision too. That's why it came down to the performance on the field, not ref calls.
If you're talking about the running into the kicker call, it was more than justified. The ravens were lucky that they didn't get a personal foul on it
Probably refering to Akers' missed field goal as well. In any case, the power out probably affected the game more than anything though. And that definitly wasn't in Raven's favor. Flacco having to stay off the field for more than an hour is pretty ridiculous.
These are things that happens in sports though. Rooting for neither team I would have been a lot sadder to see Ravens lose their 22p lead after a power out, than I would be over a maybe missed holding call in the last minutes.

I was like....will this commercial ever end?? It was actually garbage
My favorites were the budweiser horse one in Chicago and the Deion Sanders one where he goes to the NFL combine and gets drafted number 1.
When there are only 2 real penalties called all game (running into kicker and PI) then you have to realise that the refs are calling a really really loose game and that a lot of fouls that you would expect to be called just arent going to be.

I liked it just because Paul Harvey brings back childhood memories... I was upset they didnt use his closer though.
Also Anquan Boldin is probably my #1 most respected player, mad respect, he's so good, and such a warrior even after having his face destroyed by a hit and reconstructed.

... Well I guess if I looked at it in such a cynical way it'd be pretty annoying to me as well. I actually don't think the commercial ever even mentioned ''Amerikuhhh" in the way that you are implying, though i could be wrong because it's all fading in my head already.
I mean I for one saw the coke commercial and didn't know why the fuck they included the scene about the middle eastern guy and his camel falling out of the "race for coke" early.. I know that's not the subject but I think that commercial was way more garbage and in line with your interpretation.
I thought it was a missed call and there were a few others that needed a second look (like Ed Reed on that 2pt try) but there wasn't anything egregious and it was a fairly exciting game, especially when you consider how many Super Bowl games turn into blowouts.
Decent but not great commercials, and a good half time show. Certainly compared to Black Eyed Peas or even that dusty The Who performance.

High score, longest kick return ever...some great plays (quan taking ball out of db's hands, jacobi wrong footing two defenders from a standing position), great QB performance from Flacco...great attempt at a comeback from the 49ers. I thought it had a lot, a more memorable match than many.
And TommyP that Steelers Cardinals final drive was epic, with an incredible final throw. Rivalled any of the great oldies.

also can't even tell what the fuck the commercial is talking about until they show a picture of the damn truck right at the end
By no means can I say that the Ravens didn't deserve the win, but to me, like many other NFL games, this one's memory will be marred by bad calls. No, the Akers re-kick was not a bad call; it was obvious that he was hit, and the rules are clear. The no-call on the pass interference on the last 49'rs 4th down was very questionable though, and the hold on the Raven's safety play was incredibly obvious and right in front of the referee. I just have no respect for the NFL as an organization, and it blows my mind that failed calls can affect football games so much more than other games.
Of course, this won't stand up to the atrocities of the 2010 Vikings-Saints NFC Championship game, or the week 2 Seahawks-Packers game (although nothing can beat THAT one), but it's still disappointing.

I was waiting for some joke at the end of that one. I couldn't believe it was serious. It seemed longer than the average spot, too. Felt like a double spot. Then again, it's not really that far off what we normally get with pickup truck commercials. Rural farmer bullshit is kinda normal for Chrysler.
Ads were lacking in effective humor this year. There were probably only 3-4 that amused me. Seemed like there was a lot of CBS promos and local station commercials as well. Did they not sell out or did CBS just want to use a lot of them? I don't think having that many commercials advertising the same shows is a good use of airtime.

The coke commercial was just silliness.
The Ram commercial was pulled from Paul Harvey, who was a conservative radio host and basically a snake oil salesman on his radio show. He mixed conservative American dogma in with product placement, and that whole thing paints a mythical picture of the American farmer, even for when he said it in the 70's. The Palin's definitely got off on that commercial.

I never said anything about that game. The guy said this super bowl was number 2 only to that game, but i said this game doesn't come close to Giants Pats.
