It differs by the type of exalt, since they're in different social situations. The terrestrial exalted rule the most prominent empire and more or less control creation. Common folk look to them like nobles, lords, etc., although that carries just as much negative perception as positive. Often fear. The solar exalted have had their history re-written by the terrestrials, so they're seen as demonic figures that led the previous world into ruin, but were defeated by the terrestrials and banished. Lunars were their equally demonic mates, but who were not banished, and instead still live at the edges of the world and prey on things. Sidereal exalted re-wrote their own history so that they basically don't exist, although they work with the heads of the big terrestrial empire and guide from behind the scenes. Abyssals are zombies so fear etc. Infernals are demons so fear etc. Alchemicals are robots so fear etc. New types are a mixed bag. People often pray to their local gods (who are sustained by prayers), although part of the terrestrial religion suppresses the worship of beings other than the 5 dragons, so local religiosity is snuffed out as much as possible. In some places the locals gods are still super important though. The collective term "anathema" refers to all the not-cool shit as determined by the terrestrial religion, so often a civilian response to seeing it is to yell "ANATHEMA!!!!" and go get a monk/priest. In theory, at least. Often the civilians aren't actually so 100% cool with the terrestrial dominance and are willing to be flexible. That said, many exalted could probably force the people to pray to them, one way or another. On October 24 2015 12:39 Ketara wrote: I actually have no idea what I'd play based off reading this Exalted stuff. My favorite tabletop characters are the ones who don't have some big deal convoluted back story, and are just some guy. I tend to try to make characters sound like real people rather than larger than life material. It sounds like Exalted really encourages larger than life stuff. There's plenty of options for this. Typically Solar and Lunar exalted were chosen based on their qualities of excessive excellence and such, so they're a bit weird if you just want to play "some guy". Sidereals are chosen for their destinies rather than personality/qualities though, so that's workable. Terrestrial exaltation is more-or-less inherited through blood, so it's super easy to just be "some guy". Non-exalted options can also easily avoid the "necessarily larger than life" part.

It's pretty useful since my list doesn't do much damage, but I lack the power to spam tokens/reanimate creatures to make it actually strong) and Ruinous Path (either that or Utter End; Utter End costs more but is instant and exiles pretty much anything, and I'll prob want to exile over destroy anyway). + Show Spoiler [BW lifedrain allies] + Maindeck: 1x Hangarback Walker (don't have more) 2x Expedition Envoy 4x Kalastria Healer 4x Zulaport Cutthroat 4x Serene Steward (mana dump, help make my shitter less shitty) 3x Drana's Emissary (I know she has shit stats, I still wanna try) 2x Malakir Familiar (defensive deterrent; triggers can pump it pretty fast though) 1x Grim Hauspex (draaaw!) 2x Bloodbond Vampire (hesitated with Kalastria Nightwatch for evasion; they're easy to pump in this list tho. Anyway with slackers like Zulaport and Healer I need big bodies to finish the job.) 2x Altar's Reap (more sac and draw!) 1x Utter End 2x Complete Disregard (I'd put more but I already have 4 other spot removal) 2x Vampiric Rites (sac outlet/draw/trigger lifegain) 1x Suspension Field 2x Stasis Snare 2x Citadel Siege (Retreat to Emeria too slow, no Gideon, I'll pump however I can; or stall) 1x Palace Siege (you know what this list full of EtB/LtB lacks? Recursion, and I don't have Lili) 1x March from the Tomb (I don't have more D: ) 1x Caves of Koilos 1x Scoured Barrens 1x Sandsteppe Citadel (Look, I use what I have) 2x Mortuary Mire (ditto for recursion) 8x Swamps 10x Plains (there are more black cards, but the WW costs come as soon as turn 3, also Steward activations) Sideboard: 2x Felidar Cub (enchantment hate) 3x Duress (vs spell-heavy/control) 2x Transgression of the Mind (vs ramp or annoying big stuff) 2x Nantuko Husk 2x Rogue's Passage (alternate wincon) 1x Defiant Broodlord (alternate wincon, with Harsh Sustenance out I'm not sure about it anymore) 2x Ultimate Price (fast and cheap, if their deck allows it—which I doubt) 1x Lantern Scout (against aggro; I only got one) Feel free to bash it, I know where I'd make some changes but I'm sure I missed a lot of stuff. GL buddy. Read Yango's FNM report, I look forward to reading your next one.

I went to a concert at the JP Morgan Library tonight. It was The Orchestra of St. Luke's Chamber Ensemble and Natasha Paremski (total babe btw). They played some Prokofiev, Debussy, Copland, and a Chausson concert. I had really nice seats towards the front, all in all an enjoyable evening. But for real I'm crushing super hard on Natasha Paremski atm.

Luckily Exalted is a lot more flexible than most other systems when it comes to this. It really depends what you want to do, but there's plenty of canon options. Like, blue skin is no problem, w/e sure you can just have that. This isn't fucking d&d where some dm's are like "hmm well people in towns will ask questions and it'll wreck the campaign so no". Terrestrial Exalts are elemental things (think Avatar (the bending one)) with dragon motifs, and water dragons often have blue skin as phyvo said. There's plenty of reasons why a normal human might have blue skin (magic, illness, mutation, tattoos, mixed heritage, etc) but most of these "imperfections" are burned away when a human becomes an exalt. Other humanoid races capable of exaltation keep their qualities upon exaltation, and we can always homebrew something. There's robot exalted too, which can have various colours. You also don't have to play as an exalt, which honestly would probs fit the angel thing better anyway. You can just play a god or elemental or demon or beastperson or w/e which can basically have whatever qualities you want and we can deal with the power discrepancy somehow. Wings are similarly a trivial issue although flying is useful so balance etc. Sexiness just max appearance stat + add whatever other relevant stats you want (socialize, perform, ride, etc...). There's also a seduction martial art and a bdsm martial art, but I'd prefer to not go that route personally. If you want to like, smite things, gods (and their disciples) can utilize a god-charm called bane weapon that just does bonus damage to the enemies of that god. The Unconquered Sun has an extensive list of enemies, and anyone can learn the Golden Janissary Style martial art to make things explode in golden nuclear flames to smite unholy/enemy-of-the-sun things. so tl;dr you have tons of options to do basically exactly what you want, although sometimes fitting it into a campaign will require some on-the-fly balancing so don't get too attached to damage numbers and whatever. Or we can take the lazy route and just reshape a solar exalt with mechanical/magical wings and whatever, but I've usually found this kind of a approach to be disappointing because it's like "you can't have exactly what you want, but you can have 90% of it and the other 10% is disappointing and things not working out". You an be shiva. Hell, I've had Batman team up with a giant stone turtle that wants to put the world on his back, so it's like, w/e man, it'll be fun (or something like fun), so don't worry about it. IDK, obviously with the right DM and group all that is fine, but the DM has to be on board and willing to do the extra work to make a lot of what you said work. I don't see Exalted as being more flexible in that regard than any other tabletop RPG. So when I gave my answer I went with a more strict interpretation of the rules and the setting in anticipation of, perhaps, a less flexible or experienced DM than yourself.

So when I gave my answer I went with a more strict interpretation of the rules and the setting in anticipation of, perhaps, a less flexible or experienced DM than yourself. Oh yeah no I got what you meant, I didn't mean to like critique you or your understanding of the game or anything like that. I do think the setting is more flexible though just because you can do ridiculous shit that doesn't translate into other systems very well. Like, random example, if I wanted to be a wrestler who lights themself on fire then grapples people, that's hard to make work in d&d because you have to like multiclass a bunch of things or some other contrived situation that unlocks at like level 8 (in a system where games don't tend to go past 10 because magic gets dumbest) and assumes perfect access to resources etc. This is trivial to do in exalted. My best qualities as a DM are that I can do this kind of stuff and work to enable my players and it's about fun etc. Unfortunately, my worst DM qualities are actually being what most people look for in a DM, such as being able to tell stories in a clear linear fashion, being able to be consistently prepared, good at making dungeons and having a strong grasp on tabletop norms (ex// obviously there's a trap door here), etc. I consider myself an excellent alt-DM and a very medioce-poor standard-DM. Will consider making a thread or something after upcoming Tuesday exam, someone can make one before then. edit: also anyone else can still DM or co-DM or anything like that

I have 3 Lilianas(They were at store but under wrong name which we only found at later ![]() As for who I faced: RW aggro(2-0) Mono Blue Morph(2-1) BW Warriors(1-1) RG Landfall(1-1) Atarka Red(2-1) Mainly aggro decks tonight since I managed to dodge the Abzan and Jeksai guys lol. My favourite and most intense series was against the Mono Blue morph deck. Holy shit man blue vs blue is incredible. I sidedboard most of my counter magic which landed up in a counter magic war for most of the final 2 games. Just that added level of thinking you need to account was the most fun I've had while playing magic. Game 2 was by far the most intense game I've ever played. I managed to stablize on 4 hp by doing a double counter chain on his whirler rogue. He plays it, I disdainful stroke, he counters it, I counter his counter. Sets me up with the win since I then play my own whirler rogue and push through to kill him. 3rd game had a similar situation where I burnt through his counters by playing tripple murderous cut(It was late game so lots in graveyard) which then let 1 get through to remove his creature and burnt all his counters so he couldn't stop me countering his next creature spell. Overall I'm pretty happy about my performance. I piloted the deck a bit shitty at times(Missing lethal in game 2 of RG-Landfall deck) but it was crazy fun to play. The way I was playing it was basically be as aggressive as possible against control while making sure he can't establish a board. Against aggro I would just play a value/stalling game until he ran out of steam then push through to win it. Now with the lilianas it should be a little bit stronger. Anyway thanks to Yanger,Cixah and Wave for the help so far. Think getting top 3 at my third FNM shows how much help you guys gave me. Hopefully next week I can aim for higher. This week was a bit tame compared to previous so I'm expecting another big night soon.
