If you're just doing it to cheese, then yeah people will bitch. But in fact, there are a lot of really cool allied armies out there, especially if you put a lot of time into customizing them into a consistent theme. Rules wise, allies are a thing. Different armies have different levels of alliance based on how likely they are to work together in the lore. But if you want, you can ally anything with anything with varying amount of drawback. For example, any Imperium Army (Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Adeptus Mechanicus) is buddy buddy with any other faction, but have varying amounts of downsides for allying with any Chaos army. If you're talking about just making a counts-as army that's a mix of different models with a consistent theme but is using a certain set of rules, that's generally ok, as long as it's really clear what's what and you're not trying to pass off a Guardsman as a Daemon Prince. I saw a really cool Orks/Renegades (Chaos Imperial Guard) list that had Ork gunners on the artillery pieces and Ork-themed Daemons. I've also seen Necrons kitted out with Eldar bits to make an army that looks Necron-y but played with the Eldar ruleset. Generally, if you actually want to play, then you'll want to stick to one army, at least to start with (probably to around 1000 points, as allying at below point is pretty tough), but if you're just looking to buy some models and make dioramas or whatever, then go nuts. Thanks! I think the information of regarding "counts-as" armies was especially helpful to my understanding of things. Right now I'm liking the idea of an adeptas sororitas army, with signs instead of flags, and they're all some variation of "[cisheteropatriachy / white supremacy / capitalism / biological determinism / settler colonialism / etc.] is heresy". Google searches have shown me that people get some serious nerdrage about gendering space marines, so I think thoroughly queering things will be cathartic, at least. The sisters of battle models seem like they're all one-piece or few very pieces even when you get a plastic copy, so I'll probably have to use quite a few pieces to do what I want, but I haven't carved anything in a while (I have a wooden bretonnian trebuchet, and a few small things I didn't put as much effort into leftover from kid years) so hoping it'll be fun! Actually I guess also another question: if I make shit out of wood (ie obviously not GW materials, but not that green stuff stuff) is that cool or no?

I've come around to the nerf as well. I don't like them killing an entire deck archetype, but it really seems like that card was limiting them design wise. In the video he even says Dreadsteed was gonna be a neutral minion in Naxx but they couldn't do it because Warsong existed. Edit: Still, they could have still made it less trash.

I budgeted extra money for Singapore because I wanted to live it up for three days. I however did not look at the days I would be here. The opera is closed this week only. There are two classical music concerts the day after I leave. People are telling me the night safari sucks. I really shouldn't go shopping in Singapore because everything is cheaper elsewhere. I feel like such a failure as an American right now. I guess I'll go to fancy restaurants or whatever.

Riot Brode: It's toxic guys we can't have it in game. That thing about patron warrior being to complex for the game as a justification is just dumb.

Actually I guess also another question: if I make shit out of wood (ie obviously not GW materials, but not that green stuff stuff) is that cool or no? Cool, but keep in mind that if you play Sisters you're going to have a hard time doing it. Their model range is the most outdated in all of 40k (and it shows, they still use some metal models), and they have the only codex without a physical release (aside from non-armies like the Inquisition or Legion of the Damned). There are alternative models if you're interested in going that route. Look around and there's plenty out there. One of the more popular ones recently is the "Toughest Girls in the Galaxy" line from Raging Heroes. Other people just use Space Marines but then get female heads from other companies and do some mods to create Sisters of Battle, as seen in something like this, or other places around the internet. When doing a counts-as army, the more effort you put into it the more likely people are to accept it. No one wants to play against Eldar with the weapons swapped out doing "counts as Orks", but plenty of people will play if it's obvious that work went into it. As for wood... I dunno, I guess it depends. I've never seen someone do it before, not in a full capacity. Again, it probably depends on how much effort you put into it. A roughly Rhino-shaped hunk of wood with a coat of paint on it won't pass on anyone's table, but if you have a tank chassis and a bunch of wooden extra bits hand-carved all over it and painted to look good, then I don't see anyone having a problem with it. Making characters out of wood would probably be pretty difficult (if possible at all), but I can see you making some wicked bases out of it.

Wish as a collective the fans could have been a little classier. I always thought we were better than that.

I'm pretty sure it's fairly widely agreed that Mario Maker is fun and a good game, and yet he just rips it apart. Hilariously, I might add. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/57514-Super-Mario-Maker-Review

I get that being cynical and vitriolic is his "thing", but honestly it's the same thing in nearly every review. And Escapist realized that him being angry got them more hits, so they just told him to keep doing it. Same thing happened to Moviebob when he got kicked out. He did a couple movie reviews, then did one that was really angry and full of swear words and criticism, which got a bunch of hits, and then the rest afterwards were like that. I mean, I don't blame them. If you're an internet content provider, you're going to provide whatever gets you the most hits.
